The Harmony of Body, Mind, and Spirit

Namo Amituofo teaches us that every human being is composed of three distinct yet interconnected elements: , the mind, and the spirit. Each of these components performs its own essential function to maintain the continuity of life, the operation of the physical form, and the stability of our inner world. When these three aspects are in perfect alignment, one enjoys a harmonious life, a healthy body that is free from the burdens of premature aging and illness, a tranquil heart, and a spirit that is both stable and joyful.

However, as the years pass, we find ourselves caught in the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, death. Throughout this journey, we often drift further and further away from this state of original harmony. Our physical health begins to show warning signs, our hearts become restless and unsettled, and we may experience a variety of distressing symptoms. These include difficulty concentrating, memory loss, slowed reactions, of lethargy, a sense of being lost in space, and emotional instability that feels impossible to control. These are all manifestations of imbalances within our body, mind, and spirit.

The Limitations of Conventional Medicine

In our busy daily lives, we often ignore these subtle signals until they accumulate to a point where we can no longer function normally. When we finally face the reality of birth, aging, sickness, death, or mental decline, we seek various ways to restore our former health. For most people, conventional medicine is the first and most direct path to seeking a solution. While medical intervention is necessary, it often focuses on symptom management, regular check-ups, and monitoring for recurrence or the spread of disease.

If a condition persists or returns, it is often because the root cause of the problem has not been identified or resolved. This root cause lies deep within the spiritual dimension. Because this level of our existence is not addressed by standard medical examinations, and because people have not been educated on these deeper truths, they continue to suffer through the cycle of birth, aging, sickness, death. They remain unaware of their own true self and their inherent Buddha-nature. If one could truly realise their true nature, they would be able to live a life that is free from aging, free from illness, your spirit never dies.

The Burden of Karmic Debt

We must understand that our body, mind, and spirit carry the heavy burden of from our past lives. We are, in essence, a body carrying karma, and we share this physical vessel with other spirits who are closely related to our own true self from past incarnations. These countless, immeasurable spirits are intimately linked to the state of our own body, mind, and spirit. The karma we have created and our relationships with our are played out through the process of birth, aging, sickness, death. The condition of our physical body, in turn, profoundly influences the state of our mind and spirit.

Before we transform our karma, these countless spiritual beings coexist within our physical form. Each of these spirits possesses its own . As they seek to settle old grievances and collect on past debts, they cause changes in our cells and organs, which manifest as physical illness. Even the medical treatments we undergo and their outcomes are part of the unfolding of this karmic process. This is where spiritual therapy becomes a vital and effective tool for healing.

Often, after these spirits are invited to leave, illnesses can be alleviated or improved, and the suffering they caused can be resolved.
  • Change personality traits: The fundamental way to resolve aging and illness is to change personality traits. You must stop complaining, stop comparing yourself to others, and stop being angry or harbouring resentment. Every time a negative thought arises, your heart becomes turbulent, which immediately attracts karmic creditors to manifest. This is a primary reason why illnesses recur.
