The Quiet Arrival of Qingming
The Qingming Festival arrives with a quiet, solemn grace. During this season, we reflect upon the many spirits who wander through the vast spaces of existence. Some are lonely souls, drifting through the void without anyone to offer them prayers or remembrance. Others are ancestors, resting within the memorial tablets of their family shrines, waiting for the devotion of their descendants to reach them. Though the living and the dead seem separated by a veil, they are all traversing the six realms of existence within this infinite space.
The Boundless Suffering of the Six Realms
How many beings currently suffer in the hells, crying out in agony with no way to escape? Their sorrow is profound, and their plight is desperate. Only through the sincere invitation of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre can these spirits receive the necessary to find their way out of darkness. Consider the hungry ghosts, whose bellies are swollen like drums, yet who cannot consume the food they crave. Consider the animals, trapped in their varied forms, obscured by ignorance and unable to see the light of truth. Even those in the heavenly realms, while enjoying temporary bliss, will eventually see their time of happiness come to an end.
The Path to True Liberation
Regardless of which realm a being currently inhabits, the practice of Chao Du during the Qingming Festival is a vital act of . It helps resolve karmic grievances and allows beings to leave suffering behind. The only true liberation is to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. When descendants perform these meritorious deeds with a sincere heart, they not only help their ancestors but also ensure that their own lotus grade in the Western Pure Land is elevated. This message was recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
