The True Meaning of Practice

True practice is the art of adjusting oneself, rather than demanding that others accommodate your own preferences or expectations. Many people mistakenly believe that practice is about changing the world around them or forcing others to conform to their desires. However, the path of a true practitioner begins within. It is a process of constant self-reflection and refinement, ensuring that your thoughts, words, and actions are in harmony with the .

Aligning with the Universal Truth

The natural principles of the universe operate silently and invisibly, governing all existence. These include the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, such as the laws of and cause and effect, where goodness brings forth good rewards and evil leads to suffering. To adjust oneself is to hold oneself to a higher standard. It is the practical application of your understanding of the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, as well as the laws of karma and the ultimate truth of reality. When you align your life with these truths, you cease to struggle against the flow of the universe.

The Clarity of a Purified Mind

When you purify your Body-Mind-Spirit, you enter a state of simplicity and clarity. In this state, you are fully present in the current moment, with no remnants of the past clouding your perception. This clarity is the manifestation of your meditative concentration. It is the result of the hard work you have put into your practice—the deliberate effort to remove defilements and attain purity. Without this purification, the mind remains cluttered, and the true self cannot shine through.

The Pillars of Sustained Concentration

If this meditative concentration is to be sustained without regression, it must be supported by two vital pillars: and the power of Discipline. It is through the power of compassion and the strength of your Discipline that your meditative concentration remains stable, guiding you steadily until you reach the state of an awakened being. A heart that remains unmoved is the essence of meditative concentration, and it is an inherent part of your true self. When your practice leads you to become an awakened being, it is a sign that your efforts to adjust yourself have truly borne fruit.

Passing the Torch of

You must now pass on this precious experience and the process you have undergone. By doing so, you will help more fellow practitioners find their own opportunity to become an awakened being. This is the path taken by Practitioner Su, the path followed by the fourfold assembly, and the path that all future practitioners must also walk. May we all continue to refine ourselves, staying true to the path of Namo Amituofo until we reach the of Ultimate Bliss.
