The Weight of Human Suffering
Who can truly resolve the suffering of this world? Who can understand the deep-seated frustration and the profound sense of loneliness that dwells within your heart? As you stand upon this earth, you may quietly observe the wind as it brushes past, the drifting of white clouds, and the birds flying in pairs across the sky. You might listen to the rhythm of your own breathing and the steady beat of your heart. Everything seems so peaceful, yet you find yourself asking: where can my heart truly find rest? Who can possibly understand this inner turmoil?
As the days pass, one by one, your body grows older and weaker. The illnesses you carry become increasingly heavy and burdensome. You face the agony of body and mind, and you are confronted with the terrifying prospect of death. In such moments, who is there to save you? Suddenly, a warm current flows through your heart, and a message of great is transmitted to you.
The Buddha Knows Your Heart
My child, the Buddha knows and understands everything. He is aware of the suffering of this world, the frustration and loneliness in your heart, the wind that blows, the clouds that drift, and the birds that fly in pairs. He knows the sound of your breath and the beat of your heart. He is fully aware of your ageing, your sickness, and the fear you feel when facing death.
You are not alone. As long as you are willing to be sincere and earnest, you can treat the Buddha as your dearest friend, your parents, or your elders. You may entrust all your distress, your helplessness, and your anxieties into the Holy Name of Namo Amituofo. Simply continue to chant the Buddha’s name, and do not let your mind wander to other thoughts. As long as you believe and chant with utmost sincerity, the Buddha will receive your call. He will transmit the power of stability and energy to you the very moment you chant.
The Direct Guidance of Practitioner Su
You are never alone, for the Buddha is always by your side. There is no child whom the Buddha would ever abandon. Every single one of you is like the flesh of the Buddha’s heart and a treasure in his hands. The only question is whether you are willing to believe in the Buddha, whether you are willing to let the Buddha help you, and whether you truly desire the Buddha’s presence, or if you are pushing him away.
The Buddha hears every cry of his children. The words the Buddha wishes to convey to you are exactly like the teachings provided by Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. When you listen to Practitioner Su, you are listening to the Buddha. You may wonder why Practitioner Su’s words are sometimes so swift, so direct, and so frank, without any roundabout phrasing. It is because Practitioner Su knows that his time in this human world is limited. He sees clearly that the of all beings are demanding repayment with such urgency and ferocity. He sees the suffering of birth, the suffering of old age, the suffering of sickness, the suffering of death, and all other forms of misery. He sees these things with absolute clarity, yet you, as his children, often lack the necessary awareness to see or hear them yourselves.
Healing the Roots of Suffering
Many of you are ill. Some are so severely ill that your lives are nearing their end, while others are sick without even realising it. When Practitioner Su tells some of you that you are ill, you may not agree or believe him, simply because you have become accustomed to your sickness. Others may know they are ill but do not consider the situation to be serious, choosing to delay treatment to attend to other matters first. However, the Buddha must tell you: you are truly ill! This is the reality. You may be suffering from a sickness of the heart where your spirit is damaged, or a physical illness where you have lost control over your own body, or perhaps you are suffering from both.
If you wish to rediscover your true self and attain a life of health, freedom, and clarity, you must remove these illnesses. You must listen and follow the counsel given to you so that you may be cured and saved. If you find these loyal words difficult to hear and refuse to listen, how can your illness be healed? How can your heart be opened? How can your spirit become clear and bright? How can your three hun souls and seven po souls find peace? How can the karmic grievances with your karmic creditors be resolved? How can you attain a life of health, freedom, and clarity? Most importantly, how can you be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss?
A Rare Opportunity for Liberation
You should feel joyful—filled with immense . Because at this very moment, you have heard and seen these words from the Buddha. Your once-aimless heart has finally found its true home. You now know that there is Namo Amituofo, there is the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and there is the awakened being, Practitioner Su, who can help you. It now depends entirely on whether you are willing to accept the help of the Buddha and Practitioner Su.
Live your lives in this human world well, and make good use of every single minute and second. Human life and time are so incredibly precious. It is difficult to obtain a human body, difficult to hear the Buddha’s teachings, and difficult to encounter the Pure Land path. Yet, you have encountered them all now. The problems of your body, mind, and spirit cannot be solved by medicine alone, but the Buddha and Practitioner Su can lend you a helping hand, whether you are currently living in this world or have already passed away.
- For those living in this world: If you believe in the Buddha and Practitioner Su, believe in the laws of and cause and effect, believe in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, and believe in Namo Amituofo, you can be saved. If you are willing to follow the teachings, live your life well, use your time to save others, help yourself and others, study the Buddha’s teachings, chant the Buddha’s name, and make the vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, you will be saved. For those who have already passed away: Practitioner Su possesses the true attainment to help you. Regardless of which realm you have been reincarnated into—unless you have already been reincarnated into the human world—he can invite your spirit back to the Western Land of Nature at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. There, you can listen to the sutras, hear the Dharma, and be sent to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
All of this is so magnificent and rare—it is truly difficult to encounter in millions of years. Since you have encountered it, you should feel filled with joy. I, Ashvaghosha, convey this message on behalf of the Buddha. I hope that all who have the karmic affinity may receive the grace of the Buddha’s compassion. This is a rare and difficult opportunity to encounter, and even harder to believe. Those who believe are those who have gathered sufficient good roots. With such great fortune and Dharma affinity, you will be able to attain liberation from the suffering of the cycle of rebirth and be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
This message was recorded by the Buddha’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
