The Buddha's Presence in the World
An Interview with Venerable Changgao
Recorded on December 17, 2019
This interview with Venerable Changgao was recorded on December 17, 2019. In this account, Venerable Changgao shares his profound observations regarding the presence of the Buddha in the world and the miraculous work of deliverance currently being performed at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. The record was transcribed by the chief writer, Shi Faxin.
Venerable Changgao speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Venerable Changgao. As I stand here, the leaves are rustling, and a powerful wind blows from the distance. This sudden, rushing wind causes the spirits in the surrounding space to instinctively lift their heads. Before me, I see a multitude of monastics, each radiating a brilliant light from their crowns. Every one of them possesses such dignity; their presence is truly extraordinary, and their faces are filled with a warm, boundless .
I am currently following closely by the side of my teacher. In various moments, my teacher manifests the , composed of fifty trillion cells, to lead immeasurable and boundless sentient beings toward salvation. The speed of this process is so incredible, and the number of spirits being saved is so vast, that even those of us by my teacher's side—along with the countless protectors—sometimes struggle to keep pace with the speed of this deliverance."
The Truth of the Universe
"Everywhere my teacher goes, people of noble aspiration throughout the universe join this mission to save the world. This is because my teacher has unveiled the Truth of the universe, allowing everyone to follow this path. It has made the entire universe aware of the magnificence of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Whether they are beings from the hells or those with high spiritual attainment, all can travel to the Western Land.
Although there are various discriminations in the universe caused by thoughts and space, once one reaches the Western Land, everyone is equal. My teacher does not merely verify the existence of the Western Land within the human world; my teacher has opened the gates to the Western Land throughout the entire universe, leading immeasurable and boundless beings there every single day. The lotus land is vast and incomparably clear. Everyone is a Buddha, and everyone can become a Buddha."
The Challenges of the Age of the Dharma's Decline
"Now, the Buddha is truly before our eyes, having descended into this world. This is truly for the sake of salvation during this age of the Dharma's decline. However, humanity in this era is severely afflicted by greed, anger, delusion, arrogance, and doubt, as well as the of wealth, lust, fame, food, and sleep. It is difficult for people to truly believe in the arrival of the Great Dharma. Those who do accept it are those who have accumulated deep merit and virtue in their past lives.
Everyone wishes to transcend the cycle of birth and death. But when faced with the Great Dharma of life and death, one must let go of worldly thoughts and abandon worldly concepts. If you can calm your heart and truly experience this, you will realise that the Buddha has indeed arrived in this world. You have already experienced and realised enough in this world; do not remain attached to your own concepts. When the Buddha arrives, simply welcome the Buddha and sincerely follow the Buddha's path."
Returning to -Nature
"Everyone can attain the same ability as my teacher. Everything comes from the true self-nature and is manifested by the true self-nature. Only a heart of compassion and a vow of compassion can achieve and realise everything. Namo Amituofo."
