This is a record of an interview with Mo Wuhen, the Great Demon of Hatred, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the . This account reflects upon his activities during The Pandemic: A Message from Namo Amituofo, recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on August 4, 2021.

Mo Wuhen speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Mo Wuhen, the Great Demon of Hatred. My demon children and grandchildren are the lesser demons of hatred. We are everywhere. Whenever there is a sense of injustice or a small spark of anger in a human body, my demon children and grandchildren can enter. We burn! We burn! We turn that small flicker in the chest into a raging inferno.

When we see their angry faces, we applaud them. 'Why should a human suffer a loss?' we whisper. 'If you suffer a loss, you must fight back!' If you suffer losses everywhere, what is the point of life? That is the core philosophy of our demon crowds. When the fire of hatred ignites, the entire body trembles."

The Pandemic: A Message from Namo Amituofo and the Spread of Hatred

"We have always resided in human bodies in this way. But recently, the emergence of The Pandemic: A Message from Namo Amituofo—the way it spread fear and anxiety among the people—was different from our usual methods of control. It piqued our interest. I, Mo Wuhen, led my demon children and grandchildren, who were dwelling within the cells of the human world, to emerge. Once we were allocated the virus, we began to spread it.

The targets of our transmission were mostly people with wicked hearts—those who only care for themselves, those who would disregard everything for their own survival, or those who put themselves above all else. These people are often self-righteous. If others do not listen to them, they become angry and give rise to hatred. Once that hatred arises, we take advantage of the opening, bringing the virus with us and making them pay the price."

A Demon's Ambition and the Unexpected Turn

"I led my demon children and grandchildren, and we were having a grand time. We even divided the world into regions, with each of us responsible for one area. We agreed to return to the centre later to count our numbers. Whoever transmitted the most would be awarded territory. My demon children and grandchildren were all very excited.

Then, news heard from the space that someone was trying to save the world from the pandemic. My demon children and grandchildren and I laughed out loud. How could that be possible? We looked out and saw the entire vast space filled with dancing demon crowds. How could this pandemic ever stop? I led my demon children and grandchildren to come and watch the show."

Caught in the Light

"Just as we were looking at the boundless spirits, our mouths still hanging open in mockery, I looked at my demon children and grandchildren, and they looked at me. Suddenly, an immense force of attraction pulled us into a space. This was our first day, our first time coming here. We are still trying to figure out where we are!

The clothes worn here make us feel uncomfortable, and we are still adapting to everything. Our behaviour is restricted here; we cannot go wherever we want. I originally wanted to get angry, but I found I could not summon the rage. How could this be? There are so many protectors here. I dare not be too arrogant, so I am still observing.

Namo Amituofo."
