During the and the noon offering, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju provided profound guidance on the necessity of facing our reality with courage and clarity.

The Veils of Right and Wrong

In this world, right and wrong are rarely clear, and it is difficult to find perfection in any situation. Everything we encounter is governed by the laws of and cause and effect. To face your and your past karma is the essential lesson of your practice. Do not try to escape from these challenges. If you do not change your ways, your old karma will simply manifest again. When heavy responsibilities appear before you, you must face them directly. To take them on with a steady heart—that is true boldness.

The Path of Courageous Acceptance

My dear disciples, facing reality is the best way to solve the problems that plague your life. To truly face your existence, you must understand the following:

  • Birth, aging, sickness, death, and the cycle of reincarnation: Facing this means learning the path, chanting Namo Amituofo, and making the sincere vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land.
  • Past events and memories: Facing these means to learn how to "see through" and "let go" of the illusions of the past and the burdens they create.
  • of resentment, gratitude, and emotion: Facing these means to be reborn in spirit and start anew, unburdened by the weight of past attachments.

Transforming Through

To walk the path of liberation, you must apply your practice to every facet of your being:

  • Use diligent practice to face the self that is currently trapped in the cycle of reincarnation.
  • Use the , Concentration, and Wisdom to face the self that is impermanent, ever-changing, and illusory.
  • Use chanting Namo Amituofo, prostrations, and reciting the Sutras to face the self that is filled with constant delusions, discriminations, and attachments.

By engaging in this process, you will eventually find liberation from birth and death. You will realise your true nature and find the original self that has been hidden for so long. This is the ultimate goal of our journey.
