The Dark Force Legion of the Universe

This is a record of an interview with the 910th Venerable, known as Zigan Da, who sought Chao Du at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his observations of cosmic forces and the history of the Sikuwa Legion. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on June 10, 2018.

Venerable Zigan Da speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am the 910th Venerable, known as Zigan Da. You must understand that the vast expanse of the universe is not the tranquil, silent void that humanity imagines it to be. In reality, it is a theatre of constant, intense confrontation between various opposing forces—a cosmic reality that remains entirely unknown to the people of your world. Within this space, powerful forces ruthlessly devour the weak, and malevolent energies seek to extinguish the light of Goodness. In this dark, turbulent expanse, flashes of brilliant, colourful light occasionally emerge, only to be swiftly swallowed by the encroaching shadows."

The Hunger of the Stars

"Planets are frequently locked in desperate struggles, competing fiercely for the energy required to sustain their existence. The technology developed by these extraterrestrial beings is millions of times more advanced than the latest innovations found on Earth today. The very structure of their bodies functions like a highly sophisticated, high-tech instrument, capable of manifesting a vast array of complex operations. Yet, they suffer from one critical, fatal flaw: they lack the ability to generate their own energy. Just as the human body requires external sustenance to maintain life, these beings are entirely dependent on consuming energy from outside sources.

Because the energy sources of their home planets are nearing total exhaustion, these beings are driven to launch aggressive campaigns to invade and occupy other worlds. In the chaos of these battles and the violent seizure of resources, a malignant magnetic field is naturally generated, spreading throughout the entire void. As these corresponding magnetic fields gather and coalesce, they condense into even greater dark forces, which severely disrupt the normal, harmonious operation of the universe. This dark energy, ignited by the conflicts between these extraterrestrial beings, is expanding rapidly. As they tear into one another to plunder energy, the universe loses its dynamic balance."

The Sikuwa Legion: Fallen Practitioners

"The Sikuwa is one such legion of dark forces operating within the stars. Their banner is a black flag trimmed with a striking red border. The members of this legion are malevolent extraterrestrial beings; their bodies are pitch black, and their eyes emit a piercing red light. They carry an aura of profound evil, and their sole purpose is to destroy the equilibrium between celestial bodies and devour the pure, wholesome energy of the entire universe.

What is truly shocking is this: they were once highly intelligent practitioners. However, when Wisdom and desire fell into contradiction, their practice went astray, and they descended into the path of demons. They entered the cosmos and assumed the forms of extraterrestrial beings to conceal their past lives as humans. They deliberately exuded an aura of malice to amplify their wicked influence, and through this, they successfully dominated many star systems. Some planets that were still in the process of formation—slowly absorbing energy to coalesce into complete worlds—were destroyed by the Sikuwa Legion before they could even take shape."

The Cyclone of Truth

"There was once a group of purely benevolent beings, possessing clean, white, and radiant forms. They sought to gather positive energy to resist this destructive legion of darkness. However, the dark legion called upon other beings with corresponding magnetic fields to join their ranks, causing their evil influence to expand with terrifying speed. These purely benevolent beings were completely unable to contend with them. This legion, which violated every principle of Truth, committed countless atrocities, acting with reckless abandon across the celestial bodies of the universe and causing the tragic destruction of many virtuous planets.

Fortunately, there exists a powerful and invincible Righteous Path of Truth within the universe. Just as the dark legion sought to expand their sphere of influence further, a powerful cosmic cyclone—an inviolable force of Righteousness—swept through, drawing the entire dark legion into its vortex. Every member of the legion, even those who resisted with stubborn ferocity, was instantly reduced to formless, microscopic particles. They were then dispersed into planets with extremely harsh and cruel environments. Truth is constant throughout the universe; when the Causal Conditions mature, all those who have violated the Truth will inevitably face their retribution."

The Compassion of Namo Amituofo

"These members of the dark legion have been undergoing their retribution for thousands of years. When Practitioner Su made the vow to save all beings in the universe, the Causal Conditions for opening the cosmic space finally arrived. Bathed in the Buddha-light, these members of the dark legion recovered the appearance they had when they first began their practice. They knelt in the starry sky, repenting for the evil deeds they had committed in the past. Even if a being has committed countless evils in the past, if they can sincerely and openly repent in the present moment, the Buddha will still compassionately save them.

Throughout the entire cosmic system, there remain vast quantities of dark forces similar to the Sikuwa Legion. Behind their lack of Goodness lies a story that is truly regrettable. Some suffered immense trauma and, unable to adjust, became those who defy the Righteous Path. Some were framed by others, their entire life of practice destroyed in an instant. Some sought higher realms of practice but were exploited by demonic power, becoming beings of evil knowledge and evil views. Others, driven by hatred or a desire for revenge, filled their hearts with resentment and developed destructive ideologies. For a myriad of reasons, they became this destructive, unfriendly group of beings."

A Path Home for Every Child

"What the Buddha wishes to save is 'every child who has not yet returned home'—all sentient beings. No matter which corner of the universe they exist in, even if they have fled to the very edges of the cosmos, the Buddha still waits for them to turn back. The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss has no limit to its capacity; it is like a giant rock thrown into the ocean—the ocean remains undisturbed. The black holes of the universe, which are the centres of the Milky Way and are said to be the shortcut for returning to the Western Pure Land, are always open to welcome the children home. Today, the Buddha, Namo Amituofo, leads the way personally. Practitioner Su and the salvation team wave their sleeves, sweeping across immeasurable and boundless star systems, bringing immeasurable and boundless spirits back to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. The emotion of this moment, unseen for hundreds of billions of years, has now transformed into countless colourful lotus flowers, filling the entire universe.

Under the Chao Du of Practitioner Su, a vast number of cosmic Bodhisattvas have joined the ranks of Namo Amituofo’s saviours. This monumental event is spreading throughout the universe. Some evil forces do not agree with this; they ask, 'How can Good and evil be united?' Others remain sceptical. Because they have suffered such profound pain in the past, they can no longer believe that the 'human world' still possesses the power of compassion, and to them, the Western Pure Land is even more illusory. Practitioner Su’s vow to 'save the world' is questioned by these forces, who have been labelled as evil. During the times of Chao Du, they observe silently from within and outside the universe, seeking to investigate the true, sincere vows of Practitioner Su.

Practitioner Su’s Dharma Body travels through the universe, while they hide in the darkness, watching with wide eyes. They see Practitioner Su, day after day, leading immeasurable and boundless beings toward the light—the place illuminated by the Buddha-light. They see immeasurable and boundless planets, on the verge of destruction, saved by the power of the Buddha. Gradually, some beings of the dark forces have become willing to defect, following silently to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, taking refuge in the Buddha during the Thrice Yearning Ceremonies, and joining the ranks of Namo Amituofo’s saviours. Today, more and more members of the universe are joining the salvation team. Across the various star systems of the universe, 'positive energy' has begun to appear. This is the manifestation of the great compassion and vows of Namo Amituofo. May the sound of the Buddha be proclaimed throughout the entire Dharma realm of emptiness, so that all may be peaceful and harmonious, each one chanting the name of the Buddha, and being reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo."
