This is a record of an interview with Ge Zhu, a spirit who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Ge Zhu, who spent many lifetimes in the cycle of rebirth, now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his journey through the six realms of rebirth. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fajing, on November 3, 2023.

Ge Zhu speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Ge Zhu. I wish to express my deepest, most heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has helped me along this arduous and painful journey—especially to Practitioner Su, and to all the kind souls at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre who have offered their support.

My heart is finally at peace. I have arrived in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. My form is no longer that of a dog; I have been restored to my original human appearance. I am currently kneeling before the Buddha, offering my sincere gratitude and repenting for all my past transgressions. It is a feeling of relief I cannot even begin to describe."

A Lifetime of Repaying Karmic Debts

"This life was meant for me to repay my karmic debts. I was born as a dog, and I used that canine form to settle what I owed. I endured so many trials and tribulations—every single event was a manifestation of my , coming back to collect what was due, one debt at a time. When I look back and see clearly the karma I had created in my past lives, the hatred I once held for those who had harmed me simply vanishes. I realise now that it was I who had harmed them first in the past, which is why we were destined to meet again in this life to settle the score.

Think about it—how many times have we been blinded by our own actions? I was so caught up in the cycle of retribution that I could not see the truth of my own suffering. But now, the clarity is overwhelming. There is no more room for resentment, only for deep, profound repenting."

The Long Dream of Samsara

"Before I was born as a dog, I had actually studied the in one of my past lives. But alas, I became lost in the mundane world, seduced by worldly desires, and I could not attain liberation. I drifted through life after life in the cycle of rebirth, and my suffering only grew deeper. My karma was constantly churning, pulling me into deeper and deeper agony. Eventually, I fell into the realm of animals, and for several lifetimes, I was born as a dog. Each of those lives ended in immense pain and suffering. It was a nightmare that seemed to have no end.

My sins were heavy, and my karma was profound. I have been repaying these debts for lifetime after lifetime, and even now, I have not fully settled them all. However, I have been blessed with immense good fortune to have encountered a truly compassionate person—I shall call her Lay Practitioner Wang. It was she who reached out to help me when I was at my most desperate. She became the owner who truly cherished me, and even after I passed away and my spirit continued to suffer, she did not abandon me. She sought help for me, leading me to Practitioner Su, whose allowed me to be saved and guided to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. From that moment on, I finally attained true liberation."

Waking from the Illusion

"Now, Practitioner Su has led me to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. As I look back upon my past, it truly feels like a dream—a long, lingering, and painful dream. I have been trapped in this dream for so long, drifting through it, until now, with the help of Practitioner Su, I have finally awakened from the slumber of ignorance.

I hope that all those who are still lost in this dream will awaken quickly! Everyone is inherently good; it is only the fog of ignorance and the weight of our own delusions that obscure our true nature. I pray that you all wake up soon, chant the holy name of 'Namo Amituofo', and return to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Do not wait until the suffering becomes unbearable—the path is open, and the Buddha is waiting for you."

Ge Zhu bows in reverence. Namo Amituofo.
