This is a record of an interview with Miaoyin, the spirit of a child aborted by Lay Practitioner Wang Chunming when she was between twenty-four and twenty-five years old. The spirit sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on January 12, 2024.

Miaoyin speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Miaoyin. Mother, ever since my spirit came to be conceived within you, there was a profound and sacred connection between our lives. In my heart, I had already recognised you as my mother. I never imagined that this karmic bond would be so tragically short-lived.

A Connection Cut Short

When I was still in your womb, I was filled with such anticipation, waiting for the day I would finally meet you face-to-face. Yet, even then, I could sense your deep anxiety and helplessness. I felt your fear, and it clouded my own existence. In the end, amidst a pool of red blood, my life was abruptly ended, and I became a lonely, wandering spirit. My heart was so small, so fragile, and I felt utterly devastated. I was cast into another space—a realm that was profoundly dark and cold. It was a place of absolute isolation.

The Darkness of the Void

In the beginning, I could not stop trembling. I was absolutely terrified! No matter where I drifted, there was only suffocating darkness. Because of this, a deep sense of resentment began to grow within me toward you, Mother. I blamed you for not wanting me, for casting me aside and leaving me to suffer in this wretched state. My spirit felt nothing but agony, a constant, gnawing pain that seemed as though it would never end. I remained in that state of misery until you finally remembered me and reached out for help. You invited the compassionate Practitioner Su to assist, and it was through her that I was brought into the light. Only then was I able to enter this bright and radiant Buddha-land.

The Warmth of Buddha-light

When I first arrived at this Buddha-land, my heart was still heavy with the resentment I held toward you. But the Buddha-light here is so powerful; it began to purify me immediately. It provided such an immense, overwhelming warmth that the of anxiety and fear that had plagued me for so long simply vanished. They were completely dissolved by the light.

A New Path to the Western Pure Land

Here in the Buddha-land, I often gaze upon the Buddha. He is so vast, so magnificent, and so incredibly bright. I find myself sitting upon a soft, gentle lotus flower. Before me, there is always a world of brilliant light, though for a long time, I did not know what it was. It was only after listening to the solemn protectors that I finally understood: that light is the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. As I looked upon that radiance, I finally let go of all the resentment I had been harbouring in my heart.

Through the daily purification, I have come to realise that my true purpose is to seek rebirth in the Western Pure Land. The karmic connection I had with you, Mother, is a chapter that has already closed. Now, I have decided to look forward. I have made the firm choice to chant Namo Amituofo with all my heart and to ask the Buddha to accept me into his embrace.

I am so grateful to you, Mother. I have reached the Western Pure Land, and I am now known as Miaoyin, a disciple under the guidance of Namo Amituofo. I truly hope that you can live your life with and that you will follow the path of Namo Amituofo with sincerity. Thank you for everything."

Namo Amituofo.
