The Eighth Letter of Master Wei Chueh
An Interview with the Spirit of Master Wei Chueh
Recorded on June 14, 2017
This is a record of an interview with the spirit of Master Wei Chueh, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He reflects upon his life's work and the spiritual state of his followers in the Chung Tai world. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxi, on June 14, 2017.
Master Wei Chueh speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. To all the monastics, protectors, and lay practitioners within the Chung Tai world—to all of you who are so familiar with me, the old master—I appear before you now, yet I find only doubt in your hearts. There is nothing else. My life was one of immense hardship and struggle. It was not easy to establish the Chung Tai world, and I relied entirely on your support and protection to bring it into existence. Yet, I look upon it now, and I do not see the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. At best, some have attained the heavenly realms, which is magnificent, but in truth, many are still trapped in the cycle of the six realms of existence and reincarnated. Even worse, many suffer the retribution of the hells. Why is this so? I ask you to search your own hearts and reflect deeply on this."
The Weight of Truth and the Courage to Face It
"I, Wei Chueh, do not have many more words to say. Day after day, as long as you all refuse to face this reality with honesty, I will continue to wait. Among so many followers and monastic disciples, is there truly not a single person who believes that this is me? Even if there were only one, I ask you to come forward. Come and find me. Even Master Sheng Yen of the Dharma Drum Mountain is waiting for a brave soul willing to stand up for the truth. We in the Chung Tai community must do the same. Facing the truth is the only way to be authentic; avoidance brings no benefit to anyone."
"I will continue to wait. Has my voice truly lost all its strength? I implore the fourfold assembly of disciples to reflect on this once more. Not all information that reaches you is born of error or malicious interference. We are all practitioners of the Dharma, and not everyone who speaks of these things is a deceiver. If the future of your spiritual achievement is buried by the word 'misunderstanding' and you fail to truly face and improve your situation, the only one who loses is you—not these compassionate monastics and lay practitioners who are trying to guide you."
An Invitation to Verify the Path
"Please, believe that the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss truly exists. Believe that there is a path that connects directly to the West, and that path is right here. There is no harm in coming here to verify it for yourself; you will surely gain something of immense value. I, Wei Chueh, am waiting for that brave soul who is willing to come here. Namo Amituofo."
