of the Heart

Namo Amituofo's discourse:
The Strength of a Steady Heart
The true strength of your heart lies in its ability to remain steady. Do not allow yourself to be thrown into chaos by the myriad affairs of this world. You must cultivate equanimity. When your heart is truly calm and balanced, you will be able to perceive the world from a more upright and correct perspective.
What does it mean to have an equanimous heart? It means your heart does not waver. It remains still and unmoved, like the surface of a deep, undisturbed lake, because it understands the fundamental truths of existence.
The Nature of Equanimity
Do not let the false appearances of this world alter your true nature. If you keep Namo Amituofo within your heart, you will be able to perceive the true light of the Dharma in every place and every situation. You will then be able to view the world with a heart of great .
When your heart is the master of itself, you will no longer experience the turbulence of inner dissatisfaction. This is true freedom. Whether your heart is calm or agitated, these states are often triggered by external conditions.
Mastering the Inner World
However, when you cease to harbour illusions, your heart will no longer be swayed by external phenomena. Even amidst illusions and false states, you will remain your own master, free from all interference.
This is the cultivation of the heart. Equanimity is the most essential form of meditative concentration. I hope that all my children can cultivate this state of mind. Namo Amituofo.
