The Radiant Light of the True Heart

Sincerity and truthfulness, when combined, form the foundation of a pure heart. This state of being is something that every single person possesses. It is not an external quality that must be acquired, but rather an essential part of your true self. Because this sincerity is an intrinsic part of your true self, it is always present within you, waiting to be uncovered.

You may ask, if everyone possesses this true heart, why is it so difficult to find? Why does it seem so elusive in our daily lives? If you understand why, among those who study the and practise, those who have realised their true nature are so rare, you will know why the true heart is so difficult to locate. We live in the Five Turbidities and Evil World, where the process of removing defilements and attaining purity is a monumental task. Even when one has attained a level of purity, one must continue to refine that state, moving deeper into absolute purity and absolute Goodness. Only when there is not a single trace of impurity or turbidity remaining does one have the opportunity to realise one's true nature.

Navigating the Turbid Waters of the World

During this journey of purification, if you are able to glimpse your true heart, you have found the gateway to . However, if your true heart remains obscured by the dust of worldly attachments, the opportunity to see your true self will remain out of reach. Therefore, for those who are pure and good, the true heart is neither difficult to find nor difficult to see. It manifests naturally in your actions and intentions.

When you help others without seeking the slightest reward, wishing only for their well-being, this is the manifestation of a true heart. Even if you are slandered or mistreated by others, if you still offer a helping hand when they are in need to save them from suffering, this is the true heart in action. This sincerity reveals itself naturally, without the slightest hint of force or artificiality. It does not require external reminders or teachings; it simply flows from within, much like the nature of the true self. It is a natural state of being, not something granted by external forces that can be taken away if those forces are withdrawn. I wonder, can you feel the depth of this sincerity within your own heart?

The Sacred Path of Humility and Repentance

Look around you and observe whether there are those who treat others with a true heart. If you find such individuals, you must honour and respect them. Because the true heart is so rare in this world, those who embody it are precious. You should learn from them and emulate their conduct. In this turbid world, many people have forgotten that they possess a true heart, and they do not understand its immense value. Now that you know, if you have previously offended those who treat others with sincerity, you must offer a sincere apology.

When you offended them, you were creating negative without even realising it. Those who possess a true heart carry a heart of pure Goodness, while those who offend them, by comparison, carry a heart of defilement and evil. The actions born from a defiled heart are the seeds of negative causes. Only through repenting can you be saved, cleansed, and the evil consequences mitigated. Therefore, a sincere apology and a commitment to change your ways are the essential methods of truly repented conduct.

Reflect upon the moments when you have created negative karma. Perhaps it was through unreasonable anger or shouting at others, an attitude of arrogance or suspicion in your tone and manner, or harbouring complaints or dissatisfaction within your heart, even if you did not express them outwardly. All of these situations have already planted negative seeds. You must quickly repent, change your ways immediately to avoid worsening the evil consequences. The best way to change is not only to stop treating others in this manner but to actively learn to treat everyone with a true heart. By extension, this applies to your relationship with those who have realised their true nature. If you have been disrespectful, angry, arrogant, or suspicious toward an awakened being, you have created a profound negative cause that will lead to evil consequences. Only by sincerely apologising, repenting, and changing your behaviour can you dissolve karma and reduce your transgressions.

The Eternal Harmony of Sincerity

Truthfulness is also an inseparable part of your true self. It is a state of being that lacks self-protection, existing purely for the benefit of others. To be selfless, without a single thought for one's own gain, is the definition of truthfulness. When you see someone who treats everyone with such sincere intent, you should feel and offer them your praise. Truthfulness is the fundamental attitude for interacting with the world. Those who can treat others in this way are in sync with the true heart.

Sincerity and truthfulness always coexist; they are the manifestation of a pure and good heart. Do not let them be stained by the defilements of the world. Hold fast to them, maintain them constantly, and only then will you reach the moment of true Awakening. Namo Amituofo.
