The Eternal Flow of the Dharma Water
Words of Namo Amituofo
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on 18 November 2022

The water flows eternally, washing away the dust and impurities accumulated over countless aeons. For how many lifetimes have our precious true self and Buddha-nature been covered by layers of confusion? They have become so obscured that not a single ray of light can shine through. Furthermore, we have become deeply stained. The process of our degradation has been profound: initially, we were merely dim and clouded, then we descended into darkness and filth, and the staining has grown deeper and more entrenched with every passing life.
In the past, when we committed errors, we knew to feel shame and would quickly repent and change our ways. However, look at us now. We no longer perceive our own faults, and we have forgotten how to repent or change our ways.
The Treasure of the Dharma
The Buddha’s teachings are a precious treasure capable of removing confusion and cleansing away the dust of the world. Everyone possesses the Buddha-nature and the true self, which are capable of resolving all the problems of sentient beings. Yet, because they are covered by the dust of confusion, they cannot manifest. Therefore, we must engage in the following practices: study the Buddha’s teachings to understand the truth, learn from the Buddha to cultivate our character, and chant the name of Namo Amituofo to purify our hearts.
By doing so, we can attain Buddhahood. When we reach the state of Buddhahood, our Buddha-nature and true self will finally manifest in their full glory.
The Urgency of Diligent Practice
In this limited life, if you wish to succeed in your practice and attain Buddhahood, you must work with great diligence. You must not waste a single moment. When you finally realise your true nature and save yourself, that is the very moment you begin to save the world and all suffering beings.
The Purest Flow of
The Dharma water is the purest and most virtuous essence, a perfect fusion of compassion and Wisdom. Wherever this Dharma water flows, it washes away the dust of our attachments. It flows eternally, continuously, and without obstruction. It ensures that dust and filth do not accumulate again, and that stains and impurities do not manifest.
The Buddha’s teachings and the lineage will flow forever. May the holy name of Namo Amituofo be deeply embedded in the hearts of all beings.
