The Fear of Demons and the Power of Deliverance
Teachings from Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju
The Shadows of the Ego
In the context of our spiritual practice, the term 'demon' does not refer to a mythical creature, but rather to beings—whether in the human world or the Demon Realm—whose original nature is obscured by an intensely rigid personality. These beings are often consumed by deep-seated ego-attachment and fixed, erroneous views. Their expressions through Body, Speech, and Mind are often aggressive and destructive. Because of their intense negative energy, they may harbor thoughts, words, or actions that cause harm to others. Furthermore, they often manifest as spiritual attachments, entering the human body to interfere with the daily lives of people. Consequently, people have historically sought to avoid these beings, keeping a safe distance out of fear of being harmed.
The Radiance of the Infinite
However, the situation has changed significantly because Namo Amituofo truly abides at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Through the twelve rays of Buddha-light and the countless manifestations of Practitioner Su, a grand mission of is being carried out across the Earth, the heavens, other dimensions, the realms of demonic beings, the Milky Way, the entire universe, and the Realm. This mission is dedicated to saving all beings, including those from the demon realms, and helping them leave suffering behind to find happiness.
The Trembling of the Darkened Realms
At the beginning of this mission, the demonic beings did not pay much attention to these efforts. Yet, as vast numbers of these beings were successfully sent into the , the Demon Realm began to take notice. They were seized by a profound sense of fear. In their panic, they began to launch magical attacks against Practitioner Su. These attacks were targeted and malicious:
- Attacking the head, eyes, and throat, which often caused Practitioner Su to lose his voice during the Dharma assembly, making it difficult to chant.
- Attacking the chest and back, causing intense physical pain.
- Attacking the legs, rendering them weak and difficult to move.
The Compassionate Endurance of Practitioner Su
Although the physical body of Practitioner Su was subjected to these attacks, his heart remained completely free from anger. Instead, he felt only . He understood that these attacks were actually opportunities for deliverance. By enduring these assaults, he was able to guide the very beings who were attacking him into the Western Dharma-Nature Land. Through this act of supreme , these beings were liberated from the Demon Realm, and the influence they exerted over the minds and bodies of others was significantly reduced. This display of compassion and Wisdom has moved many demonic beings, including ancient demons and old demons, to come forward to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre of their own accord to seek refuge under the seat of Namo Amituofo.
The Gateway to Eternal Peace
The magical attacks born from the fear of the demons could not stop Practitioner Su. Under the constant blessing of Namo Amituofo, he continues to work tirelessly every day to deliver these beings. In particular, the use of the twelve rays of Buddha-light to dismantle and dissolve the palaces of the demons has caused even greater terror among them, leading them to continue their desperate, futile attacks. Despite the physical suffering Practitioner Su endures on behalf of all beings, he never harms the demons in return. Instead, he sends them to the Western Dharma-Nature Land, where they are completely unharmed and live under the all-encompassing illumination of the Buddha-light.
Many ancient and old demons have now had the opportunity to enter the Western Dharma-Nature Land, thanks to the blessing of Namo Amituofo at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and the deliverance work of Practitioner Su. The Western Dharma-Nature Land serves as a vital transit station for the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. As long as these beings listen to sutras and hear the Dharma, practise chanting Namo Amituofo, and make the sincere vow to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, they have the opportunity to be saved by Namo Amituofo or Practitioner Su and enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss forever. Namo Amituofo.
