The Final Bow of a Comedian
An Interview with the Spirit of Chu Ke-liang
Recorded on June 15, 2017

This is a record of an interview with the spirit of the late Taiwanese comedian Chu Ke-liang. After his passing, he sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his life and his transition after passing away in 2017. It was recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on June 15, 2017.
Chu Ke-liang speaks:
"Chu Ke-liang's Variety Show! Chu Ke-liang's Variety Show! Throughout my life, I always chose to present a joyful face to the world, keeping my own suffering hidden away. Looking back, my life was full of ups and downs. I experienced the heights of fame, threats from the underworld, crushing gambling debts, life on the run, and finally, a comeback to the entertainment industry. Think about it—a human life passes by in the blink of an eye! It is just like a play. Like every character I ever portrayed, when the time comes, you have to leave the stage. That is exactly where I am now—I have bowed and exited the stage."
The Truth Behind the Curtain
"How long will people remember me after I have left the stage? Let me tell you all something, and I am not joking: I, Chu Ke-liang, am not dead. My spirit is still here, and I can still speak. But even when I speak with all my heart, people think I am a fake. I am truly, genuinely here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Do not think for a second that this temple is a scam, or that what they are doing is useless! If you think that, you are gravely mistaken! There is a deeper meaning behind everything they are trying to share with you."
Beyond Mere Mediumship
"I have seen it with my own eyes: this temple can heal illnesses. Their method of healing is to invite out the from one's past lives. You might think this is just like any other place that claims to be psychic or a medium. No, it is not! It is far more magnificent than that. After they invite the karmic creditors out, they provide them with a wonderful destination—the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Perhaps those who have studied Buddhism or read the sutras know of this place."
A Sacred Mission for All
"What they are doing right now is helping people 'immigrate' to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, where one can be free from illness and free from death. There is no other place in this world that can offer such a thing. They are true, genuine practitioners, and that is why they can achieve this. You should come and see for yourself. You can help yourself, this society, and indeed, the entire world. This is a truly sacred mission and a vital report. I hope that those who have the karmic affinity will believe and come to visit. I am Chu Ke-liang, and you are welcome to come here and speak with me. Namo Amituofo."
