The Fire Element as Life Force

The Fire Element within our bodies manifests primarily as our core body temperature. It is essential for maintaining the delicate balance between our internal state and the external environment. Regardless of how cold the winter may be, our bodies must maintain a steady, life-sustaining warmth. Conversely, during the heat of summer, we must cultivate a sense of coolness. We should be mindful not to allow our internal temperature to become excessively high, as this leads to physical agitation and restlessness.

The Destructive Nature of Anger

We must strive to keep our hearts and minds calm and steady at all times. If we allow anger to arise, it acts like a fire burning within us. This internal heat has a direct impact on our internal organs, causing intense suffering and discomfort. When this fire of anger rages, it becomes impossible to live in peace or maintain good health. It disrupts our daily life and hinders our ability to practise the effectively.

Regulating and Mind

What happens when we lack the energy to regulate our own temperature? When our cells become cold and sluggish, they struggle to function properly. We feel weak, spiritless, and weary. In such moments, the only solution is to regulate the heart and mind by chanting the Buddha-name. As we chant Namo Amituofo, energy is infused into our being, allowing us to be reborn in spirit. Through the wisdom and of the Buddha, we receive warmth that brings to our hearts.

  • Chanting Namo Amituofo:
  • This practice acts as a bridge to restore our vitality.Infusing Energy:
  • The Buddha-name provides the strength needed to overcome physical and mental fatigue.Cultivating Joy: By receiving the warmth of wisdom and compassion, we replace agitation with a genuine, joyful heart.

and the Path to the West

When our path is clear of obstacles, our entire body flows with vitality, allowing us to overcome all difficulties. When our true self is revealed, the mind becomes free of obstructions. No matter what the physical body endures, we can adjust to the cold and heat, protecting our life force. With a mind that is unmoved, our meditative concentration remains as steady as a mountain. The fragrance of our gentle virtue will spread everywhere. We must never stop saving ourselves and others, keeping our hearts focused solely on the path to the of Ultimate Bliss. This record was written by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
