The Radiant Bloom of the Spirit
To flourish is to manifest a scene of boundless and prosperity. When we speak of this in the context of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, it signifies that the hearts of the people have been nourished by the education of the Buddha’s teachings. They are bathed in the radiant light of the Buddha and the nectar of the , becoming filled with vibrant energy and spiritual vitality.
For so long, the hearts of people have been restless, drifting like leaves in a storm. Finally, they have discovered a place where their spirits can truly rest: the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Within the sanctuary of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, they receive the soothing comfort of the Dharma and the gentle, rhythmic chanting of the Buddha-name, Namo Amituofo. As a result, their faces light up with the genuine, peaceful smiles of those who have finally come home.
A Sanctuary for the Wandering Soul
When people come to understand that the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is a realm of such absolute purity, beauty, and dignity, they naturally develop a profound vow. They begin to chant Namo Amituofo, setting their sights on the Western Pure Land as the ultimate destination for their spirits. Everywhere within the temple, one can hear the proclamation of the Buddha’s teachings. One can see practitioners with their hearts, mouths, and ears all focused on the practice, chanting the Buddha-name, one recitation following another, in a continuous stream of devotion.
The Innocent Path to
Consider the children who visit us. Their innocent smiles remain untainted by the dust of the mundane world or the complexities of modern technology. Similarly, the monks and nuns who have undergone deep purification have washed away the stains of worldly life. Both possess a natural, innate ability to communicate spirit-to-spirit with the natural world—with the flowers, the trees, and the animals. They are able to perceive the spirit world and witness the suffering of all beings. Because they see this suffering, a great vow of arises within them, a vow to save all beings and help them leave suffering behind.
The Compassionate Deliverance of Souls
During our , suffering spirits are given the opportunity to be led by Namo Amituofo. Through the power of , they are rescued from their plight. Some are reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, while others are guided to the realms of humans and heavenly beings. This is the greatest fortune for all sentient beings. It is a testament to the power of the Buddha’s compassion that no soul is left behind.
The Noble Vow of the Disciples
The disciples at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre are truly fortunate to be known as the children of Amitabha Buddha. As you practise in this human world, you must be diligent, and then even more diligent. You must strive to elevate your spiritual level, again and again, until you see your true nature. By doing so, you transform this temple into a sacred ground dedicated to saving the world and rescuing all beings. May you continue this noble work with unwavering faith.
Namo Amituofo.
