An Interview with Datala, a Guardian from a Distant World

Recorded on May 7, 2017, at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre

This is a record of an interview conducted on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at 2:40 PM. The interview was recorded by the chief writer, Venerable HaiZe, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. The speaker is a being from the Kaida planet who sought deliverance and revealed a deep, ancient karmic connection with Venerable HaiZe, who served as their General Commander in a past life.

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "May I ask, who is here to be interviewed?"

The Being speaks: "I have been waiting for a very long time."

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "My apologies. May I ask who you are? I am sorry to have kept you waiting."

The Being speaks: "General Commander! #@%^^^^ (The being uttered a greeting that Venerable HaiZe could not understand. These were the extraterrestrial beings that Practitioner Su had mentioned two days prior. They claimed that in a past life, I was their General Commander, and they had been searching for me, guided by a beam of light that led them to my presence.)"

A Long-Awaited Reunion Across the Stars

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "The Buddha can speak with one voice, yet sentient beings understand according to their own nature. I am terribly sorry, but I did not understand that last sentence. Could you please repeat it? We invite the Buddha’s . At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, we often receive visitors from this world and beyond, and we can use a converter to translate their messages into a language we can comprehend."

The Being speaks: "General Commander, I truly thought you would be able to understand me. It seems you cannot. That was the language of our Kaida planet! It is the language passed down by our ancestors, though it has changed significantly since our planet was occupied by foreign enemies, who introduced their own tongue. General Commander, what I just said was 'Everything is well.' It is our traditional greeting."

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "I truly do not understand it."

Reading the Memory of the General Commander

The Being speaks: "It is no wonder. After so much time has passed, you have forgotten everything. We have accessed the memory banks of the General Commander, and they contain an immense, boundless amount of information—not just regarding Buddhism, but so much more! General Commander, in the distant past, you were also a practitioner of Taoism in China and a spiritual seeker in India! There are also many memories of serving as an official in royal palaces. And there is—oh, I am terribly sorry, General Commander. Your subordinate did not intend to violate your privacy by reading your memories without your consent. However, this does not require consent. It is as natural as my eyes being healthy; as long as they are open, I can see the world. Now that I have made contact with you, General Commander, as long as I think of you, I can read your past, your present thoughts, and your actions."

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "Oh! That is truly remarkable! Can you also control the brainwaves of humans?"

The Being speaks: "We can. But that would be inconsistent with our planetary ethics. There are certain constraints between planets regarding what should and should not be done. If one does what should not be done, harming the rights and interests of others, there are planetary covenants to impose sanctions. This is how peace is maintained between planets, ensuring no mutual aggression. If these are not followed, one will be shunned and subjected to collective sanctions. Although there is no such covenant between us and Earth, we are kind and law-abiding citizens; we know what is permissible and what is not."

The Spectrum of Light and the Shadow of Demons

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "That is much like how countries and various industries on Earth have treaties or laws that everyone must abide by."

The Being speaks: "Indeed."

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "May I ask, are you the representative mentioned that day: Datala?"

The Being speaks: "Yes! I am Datala. General Commander, I was your personal guard at that time."

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "Oh! Then your skills must be exceptional! Could you tell us about them? Let us learn about planets beyond Earth and realise that there is always someone better; there is always a higher authority."

The Being speaks: "Our movements are swift and agile. With a mere flicker of the eye, we know what the opponent’s next move will be, and we can immediately prevent it. Furthermore, we can discern the quality of a person’s energy from the light they carry. The light that led us to you that day was the most precious and rare golden light. Ordinary people only carry white light. If their energy is weak, it gradually turns grey and becomes increasingly dim, eventually turning black. The blackness carried by the death-demons is the deepest, most penetrating black. Therefore, if their companions wish to find them, it is easier, and they are often difficult to cleanse. Thus, if one encounters Goodness and can be cleansed, one must cherish it. Because this kind of blackness is not easily removed; it often remains hidden. Between the most precious golden light and the black light of the death-demons, there are immeasurable and boundless layers of light distributed throughout this vast Realm. The physical eyes cannot see them, but the higher-level 'heart-eyes' can perceive them. That golden light is the Buddha-light that fills the earth during today’s Dharma assembly—the light of Namo Amituofo. There are truly so many beings here today, layer upon layer. It is fortunate that we entered early, or I fear we would not have been able to get in."

A Five-Thousand-Year Journey Home

The Being speaks: "General Commander, in your group, I see a male practitioner whose memory bank contains the blackness of a death-demon, but it is gradually turning white. As far as I know, with the current capabilities of humans, it is almost impossible to shake off the entanglement of a death-demon. It is a brand that cannot be washed away. Therefore, he must cherish the opportunity he has here. No matter how difficult it is, he must stay until he is cleansed back to white; otherwise, he will find it difficult to escape the search and control of the death-demons throughout his many lives. It must be the compassionate protection of the Buddha-light here that makes this possible. Just as we relied on the Buddha-light to find the General Commander.

General Commander, when you were inputting my information earlier, did you not cough? Within your body, there is another one of our partners. Now that he has waited for your interview, he also wishes to come out and join us in heading to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss that you have instructed. We can finally end our five-thousand-year wandering and have a place to call home.

General Commander, I know you want to ask if our energy is sufficient! Yes, for these thousands of years, we have been frugal, which is why our energy bodies have been able to last until now. To be honest, we were almost at our limit. If we had not found the General Commander, once our energy bodies were exhausted, we would have extinguished in this void. However, we believe that only the outer body is extinguished; we do not know where the spirit within would go. It is just like when we first saw your body, General Commander—it was empty, but the spirit inside had actually come to Earth. It is truly profound. This is what Earthlings call reincarnated, is it not?"

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "Yes. You will certainly be well. Thank you for telling me these things. When my mission in the human world is completed, I will also return there. You must diligently chant the name of Namo Amituofo. It is Namo Amituofo who has saved us. Otherwise, we would be drifting in this sea of suffering, with no hope of ever escaping."

Datala speaks: "We will. We will be waiting for you there. General Commander, stay strong. We all support you. No matter what happens that makes you feel discouraged or frustrated, as long as you think of us, you will find strength, because we will always support you."

Venerable HaiZe speaks: "You must chant Namo Amituofo. You must follow the footsteps of the Buddha, save the world, and work hard together with everyone. Are you not the proof that beings can be saved? Thank you, Namo Amituofo! Thank you, Practitioner Su! Thank you, Teacher! I will do my best. To repay you for saving so many beings connected to me, may they all achieve rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo."
