This is a record of an interview with Anita Mui, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and serves as a Goodwill Ambassador. This account reflects upon her transition from her life as a Hong Kong superstar to her current state of eternal . Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on August 9, 2017.

Anita Mui speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. I am Anita Mui. In my previous life, I was a superstar, a name that echoed through the streets of Hong Kong. I lived under the glare of the spotlight, always performing, always endorsing, and always being watched. But today, I have taken on a new identity—one that brings me far more joy than any award I ever received. I am the Goodwill Ambassador of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."

From the Limelight to the Pure Land

"In the past, my life was a series of endorsements for products and events. I was a professional at representing others. Now, I have found a cause worth truly representing. I use the skills I honed in the entertainment industry to become the spokesperson for the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Let me tell you how I arrived here. I passed through a very special transit point: the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre.

I want to share a secret with you—very few people in the world know about this place yet. I was incredibly fortunate to find it. It was my gateway, my boarding station for the journey to the West. My dear friend Leslie Cheung also passed through this same centre to reach the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Though we were the closest of friends in the human world, we do not often cross paths here. Why? Because the joy here is so profound that we simply do not dwell on the past. We are too busy living in the eternal present."

The Freedom of No Masks

"Life in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is as carefree as you can possibly imagine. If I want to enjoy exquisite delicacies, they are there. If I want to wear beautiful robes, they are there. And the best part? Everything is free! There is no money, no commerce, no competition. Most importantly, there is no need to wear a mask. I do not have to worry about my image, my ratings, or the crushing anxiety that comes with public scrutiny.

In the human world, I was always hiding, always dodging the paparazzi, always wearing those oversized sunglasses to shield myself from the world. Oh, it was exhausting! I was constantly tired. But here? I am never tired. I am truly, deeply happy."

A Message to My Beloved Hong Kong

"We Hong Kong people often carry a heavy, suppressed weight in our hearts. Perhaps it is our national character, or perhaps it is the sheer density of living in such a small, crowded space where one can barely catch a breath. We are a hub of culture, a centre for global trade and travel, but compared to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre—the true transit point to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss—our city feels so heavy.

Can you imagine a life without competition, without the constant struggle for survival, without the frantic pace of modern life? This is what the Pure Land offers. It sounds wonderful, does it not? It is the centre of the Buddhist world. Your heart will become so pure, so clear. You have likely never heard of a place where people do not fall ill and do not die, but it is a reality here. My beloved home, Hong Kong, I invite you all to take a journey to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. Namo Amituofo is truly residing there. It is a place of true immortality, where there is no sickness and no death. Come and explore it for yourselves! You should come quickly, because soon, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre will be so popular that you will have to wait in long queues just to enter.

The magnificence of this place is something I hope you two—my fellow countrymen—will introduce to everyone when you return to Hong Kong. Help everyone open up their tight, constricted hearts. I am so grateful for your arrival, as it has given me, Anita, the chance to appear once more and serve as the Goodwill Ambassador of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo."
