The Unyielding Law of the Universe

My children, listen closely to these words. To know that you have made a mistake, yet to commit that same error again, is to compound your karmic burden. This is the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. It is not a rule established by any person, nor is it a decree that any individual can overturn. It is the natural order of existence.

When a thought arises and an action is taken, that experience is immediately recorded within your . Once a thought enters your consciousness, the laws of and cause and effect are set into motion. If you are aware of a mistake beforehand, yet you proceed to commit it, you are intentionally deepening the weight of your karmic burden. This process is stored naturally within your own mind and the web of your . No one can take this burden from you, and no one can erase this record. When the conditions mature and the consequences manifest, you will inevitably suffer. This is why it is an immutable Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way.

You must act quickly before the consequences of your actions manifest. You must:

  • Repent for your past actions with a sincere heart.
  • Change your ways immediately to stop the cycle of error.
  • Cultivate the wisdom to recognise the path of the wise.

The Echoes of History

The natural world operates according to a specific trajectory. If you follow this path, you will find peace; if you go against it, you will encounter disaster. Our ancestors in China understood this truth deeply. They passed this wisdom down to their descendants through the written word, and for generations, their descendants followed these teachings. Throughout Chinese history, there have been endless wars and the rise and fall of many dynasties. Much of this turmoil occurred because those in power failed to follow the heavenly principles, choosing instead to walk the path of opposition. When those in positions of authority knew they were making mistakes yet continued to commit them, their karmic burden was compounded.

This transgression did not affect them alone; it rippled outward, impacting the entire dynasty and the people within it. Amidst these disasters, the people suffered greatly. This was also a manifestation of collective karma, where the suffering served to dissolve the accumulated karma of the masses. Yet, history continued to move forward. This is because our ancestors accumulated such profound that their descendants were protected by their merit. When a ruler could follow the teachings of the ancestors, acting as a wise and benevolent leader who loved the people as his own children, the nation enjoyed peace and prosperity. This is the very reason why China has been able to endure through the long currents of history.

The Universal Path of Virtue

We must learn to cherish our blessings and cultivate new ones. We should focus on:

  • Knowing our blessings and cherishing them.
  • Cultivating virtue and creating new blessings for others.
  • Accumulating merit and wisdom simultaneously.
  • Acting selflessly for the benefit of all beings.

These practices are not reserved only for those who study the Buddha’s gate; they are the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way. Regardless of the time, the space, or the realm of existence you find yourself in, these are the universal standards that govern all life. They are often ignored or forgotten by people, but within the Buddha’s gate, this Truth is taught and preserved for all to see.

Reclaiming the Strength of Practice

Looking at the current state of the -ending age, it is clear that the ability of practitioners to implement and uphold these teachings has weakened significantly compared to the past. Many have become negligent, knowing their mistakes yet continuing to repeat them. Beyond simply compounding their own karmic burden, this negligence also compromises the transmission of the lineage. It causes the noble spirit of the Buddha’s gate to become less distinct, and as a result, many schools of practice have faded into obscurity.

When individuals know their mistakes but continue to commit them, it reveals that their heart and their actions are no longer harmonious and unified. Beyond the karmic causes already created, the consequences are often already in motion. I urge you, my children, to repent and change your ways immediately. Summon the boldness and determination to take charge of your life. Do not allow your karma or the influence of other beings to master you. Do not continue to create new faults. To know a mistake and yet fail to change—or to know a mistake and repeat it—is to compound your burden further. Leave suffering behind and find happiness by returning to the right path.
