This is a record of an interview with Miaoyin, the spirit of a child who was aborted when his mother, Lay Practitioner Liu Lingjun, was twenty-three years old. He sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia and now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his journey from deep resentment to liberation. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa Jing, on December 29, 2023.

Miaoyin speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Thank you, Practitioner Su. I have finally arrived at the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. It is incredibly beautiful here, filled with brilliant, shimmering jewels that I find absolutely mesmerising. I have also seen the great Namo Amituofo, who looks upon me with such immense and a gentle smile. I have learned to kneel and prostrate just like the others around me. I am so deeply grateful to Namo Amituofo and to Practitioner Su for helping me escape from my profound suffering and guiding me to this place where I can finally live a life of true ."

A New Life in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss

"My name is now Miaoyin. In the distant past, I have held many different names, but those are all behind me now. In this present moment, I appear as a young boy. If I ever wish to grow older, I can, but for now, I am content to remain as a young boy, sitting here and listening to Namo Amituofo expound the ."

"My heart was not always this peaceful. Before Practitioner Su saved me, my mind was filled with turmoil. It was only after the Buddha-light continuously purified me that my heart slowly began to find its calm. If it were not for that, I would still be consumed by such intense hatred. I hated the mother of this lifetime for taking my life away, for denying me the chance to be born, and for preventing me from ever entering this world."

The Agony of the Past

"Now, when I look back, I realise that it was all a matter of . I had once caused harm to my mother in a past life, and in this lifetime, I was reborn as her son only to be harmed by her in return. I was not even given the chance to grow within her womb before I was cruelly aborted. I do not know how to adequately describe the pain of that experience. When my body was torn apart and eventually dissolved into blood, the agony was truly like being subjected to a brutal execution. It was absolutely unbearable. Because of that trauma, my heart became even more filled with resentment, which is why I followed my mother everywhere she went. Wherever she walked, I was right there beside her."

The Cycle of Karmic Retribution

"I still remember the time I spent by my mother's side. Whenever I saw her smile, I would become incredibly angry. I did not want her to be happy; I wanted her to suffer just as I had suffered. I used every method I could think of to make her heart heavy and to ensure she could not live a happy life. But in the end, I discovered that I was the one who was suffering the most. My mother could never perceive my presence, and even if she remembered the harm she had caused, she could never truly make amends for the pain she had inflicted upon me."

The Golden Light of Deliverance

"This time, it was quite unexpected that my mother would seek Chao Du for me. When I first saw the golden light, I wept uncontrollably. I felt a strange reluctance to leave my mother, yet I was also filled with such joy knowing that I finally had the chance to be saved. I looked at her and saw that she was growing old. I realised that if I continued to follow her, we would only continue to torment one another. I made the decision to follow the golden light and leave, and that is how I arrived here with Practitioner Su."

"I am so happy now. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is a magnificent place, and I love it here. Thank you, Practitioner Su, for bringing me to this place of peace."

"Namo Amituofo."
