Words of , recorded by Venerable HaiZe.
In this world, there are truly so many objects of our gratitude! Beyond the grace of our parents who raised us, the protection of our country, and the education provided by our teachers, we must also be grateful for this vast earth.
Regardless of how we treat it, and regardless of the heavy burdens it carries, it accommodates us without complaint or regret.
We are grateful for the many people we may not know who silently contribute—toiling in the fields to grow crops and fruit trees, tailoring and making clothing, and manufacturing many products.
Practitioners must be even more grateful for the grace of Namo Amituofo, the Bodhisattvas, and true spiritual friends.
They strengthen our , water the seeds of , and ensure our and wisdom-life continue to develop without interruption.
They even teach us the supreme of becoming an awakened being, attaining Buddhahood, and being reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss.
We are grateful for the care of the Dharma protectors, which allows us to practise in peace.
We are grateful for the fourfold assembly, who each fulfil their duties to serve the public, allowing us to cultivate and grow together in the temple, helping ourselves and others, and cultivating both and wisdom.
The monastics, supported by the offerings of lay practitioners, focus on their practice. Once they have achieved success or become an awakened being, they can resolve the confusion of others, deliver lectures, invite spirits to resolve their grievances, and perform to help them be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
Sincere gratitude for everything!
