The Sacred Presence at the Lecture Hall

Namo Amituofo, the Buddha of the of Ultimate Bliss, truly abides here at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Goombungee, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia. Because Namo Amituofo is present, the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and protectors have all gathered to provide their sacred protection. In September 2025, the Lecture Hall officially opened its doors to begin the profound work of delivering the Buddha's teachings.

Within the hall, a standing portrait of Namo Amituofo serves to lead all beings toward the path of liberation. Beside this image, a photograph of Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju in his seated posture serves as a constant reminder of the dedication required for our practice. Furthermore, the hall is graced by the presence of white jade statues representing the following enlightened beings:

  • Shakyamuni Buddha, the teacher of our world.
  • Maitreya , the future Buddha.
  • Avalokiteshvara Bodhisattva, the embodiment of .
  • Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who vows to empty the hells.
  • Skanda Bodhisattva, the protector of the Dharma.
  • Sangharama Bodhisattva, the guardian of the temple.

Once these statues were placed in their designated positions, the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas manifested their presence within the Amitabha Lecture Hall. While our physical eyes perceive these as statues, paintings, or photographs, the reality within the spiritual realms is far more expansive. The space occupied by the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Dharma protectors far exceeds the dimensions of these physical forms.

A Sanctuary for All Beings

The Amitabha Lecture Hall is a place for hearing the Dharma and resolving the deep-seated doubts that cloud our minds. It is a place where Namo Amituofo delivers lectures and explains the truth of the universe. Here in the human world, Practitioner Su, having attained , continues to proclaim the magnificent Pure Land Dharma. Even when Practitioner Su faces magical attacks from demon crowds during these teachings, he remains undisturbed and continues his work, which highlights just how difficult it is to spread the Dharma in the human world.

The Pure Land Dharma is the supreme path to Buddhahood. Because the potential of those who come to listen varies greatly, the audience is vast and diverse, arriving from every corner of the universe:

  • The fourfold assembly of disciples from the human world.
  • Animals, insects, and all manner of earthly creatures.
  • Beings from the hells, including those suffering in the deepest realms.
  • Spirits and ghosts wandering the spiritual realms.
  • Sentient beings with karmic affinity and even the wardens of the hells.
  • Celestial beings from the first to the twenty-eighth heavens.
  • Sages from the Four Sacred Realms and all beings encountered during the process of .

Because the space of the Dharma Realm has been opened, all these beings are able to hear the teachings delivered by Practitioner Su.

The Miracle of the Buddha's Voice

It is said that the World-Honoured One can deliver a single sound, yet every sentient being understands it according to their own nature and needs. This is the magnificent and subtle nature of the Buddha's lectures, and it is a natural phenomenon that arises from the power of his vows. Just as in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, when Namo Amituofo speaks, every being hears exactly what they need to hear. Each listener receives the specific Dharma they long for, and through this hearing, they gain profound insights that resolve their confusion and help their spirits become clear and bright.

Awakening Through the Pure Land Path

Do not be deceived by the dust of the world or the illusions of your own , for these only create afflictions that obstruct your true nature. Instead, you must realise that these are illusory and not real. By extinguishing these afflictions, you will see your true nature. At this moment, the Amitabha Lecture Hall functions in exactly this way. It is my sincere hope that all who listen to these teachings will find true understanding, grasp the real meaning of Namo Amituofo's words, and make genuine progress in their practice. May you achieve Awakening, see your true nature, and fulfil the aspiration to save all beings and attain rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.
