The Humble Origins of a Sacred Path

Over twenty years ago, Practitioner Su, driven by a profound and compassionate heart, established the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Through years of solitary, diligent, and painstaking effort, Practitioner Su nurtured this sacred space. His heart was filled with a singular, noble vow: to share the profound beauty of the Buddha’s teachings and the magnificent, incomparable nature of the Pure Land path with all who sincerely sought to learn.

Guided by the wisdom of Venerable Master Chin Kung, he led the practitioners of the Centre step by step, footprint by footprint. Together, they grew through the study of the sutras and connected their hearts with the Buddha through the practice of chanting Namo Amituofo. This was a time of foundational growth, where the seeds of the were carefully planted in the hearts of those who gathered.

Navigating the Obstacles of the Path

The journey of practice is rarely without its challenges. During those early years, many fellow practitioners joined this path of study and cultivation. However, some were unable to continue due to various obstacles in their pursuit of the Dharma. Others, unfortunately, developed misunderstandings when Practitioner Su’s innate ability for began to manifest, leading them to depart from the Centre.

To those who have walked away, know this: the bond of Dharma affinity is not easily severed. Whether in this lifetime or in lifetimes to come, these individuals remain within the compassionate scope of Practitioner Su’s mission to save all beings. The work of salvation is eternal and knows no bounds.

The Arrival of the Ancestral Masters

Ten years ago, a significant transformation occurred at the Goombungee site in Australia, which was then the predecessor to our current Centre. The arrival of the great Master Hanshan, who descended to request for spirits, marked a turning point. Following this, many other ancestral masters from the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss descended to the Centre to request Chao Du as well.

These events brought the mission of spreading the Dharma at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre into a new and vital era. In the process of resolving these requests, Practitioner Su took the suffering of these beings upon himself. He did so without complaint or regret, never diminishing his or wisdom. With a direct and selfless heart, he led the students of Hsiang Kuang in daily, persistent, and diligent practice.

The Sacred Transformation of Hsiang Kuang

Through this unwavering dedication, the Centre finally moved Namo Amituofo to descend and manifest. It was then that the Centre was renamed the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre. The inclusion of the word Great in our name signifies that this is a place where Namo Amituofo truly abides. This was a profound turning point for our community.

From that moment forward, Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su have led the fourfold assembly of disciples in a unified effort to save the world and rescue suffering beings. Today, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre stands firmly upon the land of Goombungee, continuing the sacred work that was set in motion.

A Sanctuary for the Future

The vision of Hsiang Kuang continues to unfold.
