The Heart-Words of the Buddha: Adorning the Pure Land of One's True Nature
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded on January 5, 2025
Teachings from Namo Amituofo, recorded by the Buddha's disciple, Venerable HaiZe.
On the fifth of January, 2025, during the midday offering, Namo Amituofo provided these profound teachings:
Every sentient being inherently possesses the true nature and the Buddha-nature. Once you successfully rediscover this original nature and realise your true nature, you attain Buddhahood. From that point, you are able to manifest a Buddha-land of your own, constructed according to the power of your vows. This Buddha-land can exist within your own body or outside of it, for the scope of one who has realised their true nature is boundless and without limits.
The Foundation of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss
The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is a Buddha-land of one's true nature, built by through the combined strength of his own power and the power of the Buddha. His own power came from his unwavering commitment, while the was provided by the supportive of Lokesvararaja Buddha.
The construction of such a Buddha-land follows the strength of one's vows. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss was brought into existence through the fulfilment of the Forty-eight Great Vows of Dharmakara Bhikshu. It stands as a sanctuary capable of receiving and guiding infinite, boundless beings from the vastness of the Realm.
The Western Land of Dharma Nature
Similarly, the Western Land of Dharma Nature is a Buddha-land of one's true nature, built by Practitioner Su at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. This was achieved through the combined strength of the Pure Land's own power and the power of the Buddha:
- The Power of Practitioner Su: He followed the path of the Forty-eight Great Vows of Namo Amituofo, practising with complete faith and adherence to the Infinite Life Sutra, eventually realising his true nature.
- The Power of the Buddha: This land was brought into being through the supportive blessings and assistance of Namo Amituofo.
The splendour of a Buddha-land of one's true nature manifests according to the vow-power of the one who has realised their true nature and attained Buddhahood. The Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, being the fruition of Namo Amituofo's vows, is a land of supreme dignity, complete with every conceivable adornment.
The Splendour of the Pure Land
The environment of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss is exquisitely beautiful and dignified. It is adorned with:
- Seven rows of railings, seven rows of nets, and seven rows of trees.
- The Seven-Jewel Pools, filled with the water of eight virtues, and countless lotus flowers of magnificent beauty.
- The wind, the birds, the trees, and the flowing waters, all of which constantly expound the Dharma.
- Everything one requires for sustenance, clothing, shelter, and travel appears instantly upon a single thought.
There is no suffering in that land; one only receives all happiness. The various adornments of this land are truly beyond the power of words to describe.
The Infinite Radiance of Namo Amituofo
For ten kalpas, Namo Amituofo has never ceased lecturing on the Dharma. This is done to ensure the beings of the Western Land attain Buddhahood. The teachings provided are always in perfect harmony with what the beings there wish to hear. His thirty-two auspicious characteristics and eighty secondary marks are, in truth, immeasurable and boundless.
Every being in the Western Land is an irreversible . They are filled with Dharma , sharing in the same auspicious characteristics and dignity as Namo Amituofo, and they attain Buddhahood within the state of Infinite Life and Infinite Light.
The Transformation of Beings
The Western Land of Dharma Nature is a dignified Buddha-land achieved through the vow-power of Practitioner Su. In this land, the Buddha-light shines everywhere. Every being possesses their own lotus seat, and the sound of the Buddha-name chanting never ceases. It is a realm of light, entirely devoid of darkness.
Practitioner Su’s lectures on the Dharma are continuous, never stopping during any of the sessions of the , and continuing daily even in ordinary times. Beings from the ten directions of the Dharma Realm—regardless of time or space—including demon crowds and the beings residing within the bodies of the fourfold assembly, are all brought here. These are beings whom Practitioner Su has resolved the conflicts for, invited, and performed for, or demon crowds who have surrendered to Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su.
Upon entering the Land of Dharma Nature, these beings are adorned in white robes, manifesting a pure appearance. As the Buddha-light shines upon them, their defilements are extinguished, their goodness is born, and they become filled with Dharma joy as their true, good nature is revealed.
The fourfold assembly of disciples at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre practises diligently under the power of and vows. With the supportive blessings of Namo Amituofo, Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and Practitioner Su, you too can fulfil your vows, realise your true nature, and attain Buddhahood. You can build your own Buddha-land of true nature, adorning it with the splendour of the land, the dignity of the Buddha, and the purity of all beings. This is the ultimate achievement of the vow to practise, realise one's true nature, attain Buddhahood, and save all beings. May all members of the fourfold assembly encourage one another in this noble pursuit.
