The Hidden Dimensions Within Our Cells
An Interview with Venerable Changgao
Recorded on January 21, 2021
This is a record of an interview with Venerable Changgao, who shares profound insights into the spiritual dimensions residing within the human body. This session was recorded on January 21, 2021, and transcribed by the disciple Shi Fajing.
Venerable Changgao speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. From a medical perspective, the human body is composed of various organs—the head, limbs, skin, blood, and the internal organs—each responsible for specific functions. When any one of these organs malfunctions, we experience what we call illness. may then become difficult to use; for instance, if a foot is injured, one cannot walk freely. If a kidney fails, the entire circulatory system and all other organs are affected. If the heart stops, the entire body ceases to function."
The Spiritual Reality Beyond Medicine
"However, when we observe the human body through the lens of the Buddha’s teachings, we see something entirely different. Our Master has opened the space within the human body, revealing a complexity that medical instruments cannot detect and that the ordinary physical eye cannot see. It is a spiritual space. Within every single cell and every single organ, there exist infinite dimensions that influence the entire operation of the body."
A Tragic Morning: The Law of Cause and Effect
"How vast is this internal space? How many sentient beings influence the onset of a single illness? One morning, I observed a man walking down the street. He accidentally kicked a stone, tripped, and fell. His knee hit the ground, scraping the skin and drawing a little blood. The physical pain was immediate, but the impact on his state of mind was profound. He habitually thought negatively, convinced that this was a bad omen for the day. He went to work with a heavy heart. Because his mood was so low, he lacked motivation, his work did not go smoothly, and he was repeatedly reprimanded by his supervisor. Feeling utterly miserable, he went outside to smoke."
Controlled by
"Let us pause here. I have described this man’s morning—a span of less than three hours from leaving home to arriving at work. During this short time, how many sentient beings were actually controlling him? From the moment he started walking, his head was already filled with thoughts from many sentient beings interfering with his mind. They made him ruminate on yesterday’s events, worry about today’s tasks, and plan for next week. His thoughts were filled with evil, which in turn provoked the dissatisfaction of the sentient beings residing in his legs. Once awakened, these beings controlled his feet, causing him to kick the stone and fall."
A Universe Within a Wound
"When his knee was scraped, the countless beings residing within that knee were also awakened. I saw that within a wound no larger than a ten-cent coin, there existed a physical world—wishing to be as free as the wind, mountains & rivers, containing the spirits of those whose village he had destroyed in a past life. A tiny wound holds such a massive space! Furthermore, because he reacted to the injury with negative thoughts, believing it was a bad omen, he invited even more demon crowds into his head. His evil thoughts attracted these demon crowds, and they, in turn, made him think even more negatively. It was a vicious cycle."
The Puppet of Samsara
"He entered his workplace carrying a negative magnetic field, constantly attracting wandering spirits from the space around him into his body. This made his luck incredibly poor. When his supervisor scolded the team, even though the responsibility was shared by ten people, the supervisor chose to target only him. It was his negative aura that drew the supervisor’s anger the moment he entered the room. Later, when he went outside to smoke because of his low mood, another group of beings took control, hoping to use his nicotine addiction to cause lung disease. They were seizing every opportunity to ensure he smoked at least a pack a day to fulfil their plan to make him ill."
"This is just a rough summary of his morning. If we were to examine it in detail, every shift in his thoughts, every step he took, every glance, and every movement was controlled by different groups of sentient beings. It is evident that a person’s body contains a vast number of beings, and this body is entirely controlled and utilised by them. Without awareness, the body is merely a puppet for these beings. When things happen, it is all within their grasp."
"Our Master often says: 'Give rise to all and achieve the fruit of .' If we can maintain good thoughts, , and a broad mind every day, and if we can act without a self-centred agenda, always seeking to benefit others, we can reduce the control and interference these beings have over our physical bodies. Because you have let go of the 'self', you are no longer a puppet in their hands. Only by changing from within and turning towards Goodness can you reclaim the autonomy of your spirit and body."
"Namo Amituofo."
