The Hidden Scars Within the Body's Space
An Interview with Venerable Chang Ren
Recorded by Shi Fajing on October 3, 2022
This interview was recorded on October 3, 2022, at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre. Venerable Chang Ren, a monastic who sought deliverance through the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su, shares profound insights into the nature of the human body and the spiritual realms. Having resided at the centre to deepen their practice, Venerable Chang Ren offers this testimony regarding the hidden spaces within our physical forms.
Venerable Chang Ren speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. Every individual has experienced the sensation of a blade cutting across their skin. For those whose cuts were deep, a physical scar remains on . For those whose cuts were shallow, the scar may seem to fade as skin cells constantly renew and replace themselves. But what about the space itself? Does that space truly vanish, or does it linger in the unseen dimensions of our existence?
The Persistence of Scar Spaces
From the perspective of the spiritual realms, the scar space does not disappear simply because the skin cells have been replaced. It continues to exist within the internal space of the body; it has never truly vanished. What kind of space is this scar space? It varies from person to person. It depends entirely on which have manifested to seek revenge. The space that appears is a direct reflection of those specific beings.
Through the skills of Practitioner Su, the spirits residing within these scar spaces can be invited out. By relying on the power of the Buddha, we can help resolve these karmic grievances. Once the spirits are invited out, the scar space itself can finally disappear from the body. However, in the outside world, most people lack such capabilities. Consequently, the many wounds left by blades on people's bodies continue to harbour these scar spaces.
The Hidden Reality of Surgery
This includes patients who have undergone surgery. When their physical bodies were sliced open by surgical scalpels, the resulting scars also formed these scar spaces. There are sentient beings residing within them. If you look closely at the spirits inside, you will find a mix: some are the person's own karmic creditors, while others are external spirits that entered the body the moment the skin and flesh were cut. They attached themselves to the wound, and as the wound healed and closed, they remained trapped inside, never having left.
The Human Body as a Vast Universe
The human body is filled with spaces everywhere, and every wound contains its own space. It is just that the human physical eyes cannot see them, and people have never heard of such things. Now, Practitioner Su uses her Body to open up the spaces within the human body. The human body is truly like a universe—it is incredibly vast and contains countless mysteries.
The Transformation During Dharma Assemblies
During every , I am able to observe the changes in the spirits residing within the fourfold assembly of disciples. These karmic creditors or external spirits attached to their bodies become restless within. Those who are willing to depart will take the initiative to leave the body. The moment they leave, the space they previously occupied vanishes from the body. This is because that space was merely a manifestation of the attachments held by those beings. Once the beings depart, the space disappears along with them.
Namo Amituofo."
