In a split second, one can achieve infinite merit. Yet, in that same split second, one can also sow the seeds of the hells. It all depends on the nature of a single thought. Like clouds drifting and a gentle breeze passing, the past dissolves into emptiness. Everything that once was, is no more. When you listen to the sutras and hear the , you must resolve to engage in diligent practice. In a split second, you may experience a moment of , allowing you to recognise the true reality of existence. When arises within your heart, you will no longer be selfish, and you will no longer live solely for the sake of your physical body. Your first priority must be to save yourself, allowing your spirit to elevate, and then elevate further, through purification, and then more purification.
In truth, as you elevate the quality of your spirit and engage in purification, and then more purification, you are simultaneously elevating the spiritual quality of the countless cells within your body. You are also purifying the , the attached spirits, and the demon crowds that reside within you. This is a profound process of healing and liberation. In a split second, your can perform for countless beings. Through the power of the Buddha-light, they can leave this life behind, chanting to seek rebirth in the or to attain a fortunate existence in the human or heavenly realms.
In a split second, your thoughts can shift, and your heart will follow. If you turn your thoughts toward Goodness, you will reap the rewards of Goodness. If you turn your thoughts toward evil, the consequences of evil will arise. Whether you experience Goodness or evil is determined entirely by your own heart, not by external forces. Therefore, you must strive to keep your thoughts pure and your heart pure. When you have a thought, let it be the name of Namo Amituofo. Do not let a single moment pass without the Buddha in your mind. When your heart is pure and your thoughts are pure, and you are constantly chanting Namo Amituofo, the Buddha will protect you, and you will experience the of the Dharma. When your heart is good and your thoughts are good, and you are constantly chanting Namo Amituofo, the Buddha will protect you, and you will generate the energy of the Right Way.
Namo Amituofo is the ultimate purity and the ultimate Goodness. Do not stray from the Buddha, for that is where afflictions arise. Achieving the purification of is not difficult if you place the , meditative concentration, and Wisdom at the forefront of your life. By maintaining pure thoughts and chanting Namo Amituofo, you will receive the Buddha's blessing and successfully attain the Pure Land. Namo Amituofo.
