The Infinite Reach of Deliverance
An Interview with Venerable Yongning
Recorded on June 26, 2019
This is a record of an interview with Venerable Yongning, who sought deliverance at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. He now resides in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon his observations of the work conducted by Practitioner Su. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Faxin, on June 26, 2019.
Venerable Yongning speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Venerable Yongning. Imagine the surface of a perfectly still, crystal-clear lake; it is the mirror of a tranquil heart. To listen to the Buddha’s teachings and truly understand their profound philosophy of the Dharma is a form of spiritual digestion. The more one allows the heart to settle into absolute meditative concentration, the more the subtle truths of the Dharma reveal themselves in ways that are entirely new and transformative.
The Turbulence of Modern Life
In our modern era, life moves at a breakneck speed. It is a relentless, tightly wound existence that lacks the quietude I once found simply by sitting cross-legged in meditation. We are surrounded by high-tech products, flashing screens, and an endless deluge of information. Everyone is obsessed with speed, believing that 'fast' is the only way to win. Yet, the more one chases this frantic pace, the more restless and agitated the heart becomes. It is a state of constant agitation, where one can never truly find peace. Think about it—how can the heart be stable when it is constantly being pulled in a thousand directions?
In modern society, many mental and spiritual illnesses stem from an inability to withstand the immense pressure brought about by this rapid, chaotic change. Even the relationships between men and women have become volatile and confused, generating a vast ocean of negative emotions. These negative spirits wander through our cities, lost and drifting. They are waiting, yearning for the purification of the Buddha-light. Without this, even as spirits, their hearts remain trapped in deep, unceasing suffering. The Buddha’s teachings are the only hope for escaping the ten directions of the Dharma Realm. A single, sincere recitation of the holy name of Namo Amituofo is enough to bring salvation. This is a magnificent opportunity—a true blessing for all sentient beings.
The Compassionate Work in Taiwan
Recently, the Causal Conditions have kept me in Taiwan, allowing me to observe Practitioner Su’s work of with even greater detail. Spirits have gathered from all corners of the earth. The Dharma assembly hall is filled to capacity, with many divine beings and spirits arriving, drawn by the opportunity to seek liberation. When we observe the bodies of those attending the assembly, we see the spirits that have been attached to them. Yet, after listening to the Dharma and joining in the chanting of the Buddha’s name at the end of the session, their faces appear increasingly light, radiant, and bright.
Most of these beings are ignorant of their own spiritual attachment; they are simply looking for a place to rest. They pile up, layer upon layer, within the human body, drawn together by the resonance of their shared habits. They are desperate for even the slightest chance at liberation. When they finally burst forth from the cells of the human body and behold the brilliance of the Buddha-light, they see the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss right before their eyes. The Buddha-name guides them out of their respective realms, and they fly toward the light, eventually moving on to the human realm, heavenly realm, or the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, depending on their individual Causal Conditions.
A Journey Through the Dharma Realm
The spirits of the universe fill the sky and the ten directions. The Dharma Realm is the ultimate hope for these countless beings. When we follow Practitioner Su as he flies across the sky, the scenery of the heavens begins to transform in a myriad of ways. The trees become crystal clear, and the luster of the colourful clouds radiates a brilliant golden light. We pass through the atmosphere and beyond into the vastness of the universe. We fly with incredible speed, never stopping, never looking back.
We witness high-level celestial beings and those from the Four Sacred Realms emerging from their beautiful, original states. Forests and vast landscapes emerge before our eyes. This is a magnificent, large-scale deliverance that unfolds day after day. I am filled with gratitude for the majestic power of Namo Amituofo’s . Never in thousands of years has such a large-scale deliverance been performed. The boundless Dharma Realm is now wherever Practitioner Su goes. Even those beings in the plague and demon realms who were once impossible to subdue have come to feel the equality of Practitioner Su’s . They are now willing to follow the path of Namo Amituofo and save an infinite number of beings.
Those who hear this great Dharma for the first time should know to follow it closely. Those who have already heard it should strive to find their true self-nature and learn from Practitioner Su’s great cultivation, his heart of compassion, and his profound vow. Namo Amituofo. May the Buddha’s teachings flourish in this world and bring transformation to all of humanity."
