The Inherent Suffering of Human Life
Teachings from Namo Amituofo

The Reality of Our Existence
My children, you have worked very hard. It is important for you to understand that the very essence of life is suffering. Those who have not yet tasted the bitterness of life may find this hard to believe, but those who have endured its trials know this truth deeply. The most common forms of this suffering are birth, aging, sickness, and death. These are the inevitable milestones that every being must face within the cycle of reincarnation.
Suffering is not merely the essence of human life; it is a fundamental reality of the universe. In this vast existence, the strong prey upon the weak, and the large dominate the small. It continues to grow and consume beings without pause. Most people live their lives day by day, following the patterns of their environment without ever receiving proper guidance or reminders. Consequently, they remain unaware that they are currently in a precarious position. They are unknowingly creating negative causes and will soon have to endure the evil consequences.
The Weight of Our Own
When karma manifests, one must face the truth alone: one is born alone and dies alone, and one comes and goes alone. No one can bear the weight of your karma for you, and no one can replace you in the face of your own or suffering. This is the absolute truth of our reality. Many phenomena in our current society reflect this harsh reality. Consider the prevalence of electronic entertainment and online gaming, which have become almost impossible for people to resist. These distractions have led to a multitude of problems, including family discord, personal struggles, and a decline in overall body-mind-spirit well-being.
This is a form of collective karma. It is a result of past actions, and it is also the creation of new negative causes that will inevitably lead to further suffering. This is the nature of the cycle of reincarnation. If you enjoy the remnants of your good fortune in this life, you will surely have to face the consequences in the next. There is no escape from the law of cause and effect.
The Path to Liberation
The only way to transcend this suffering is through diligent practice, the transformation of your karma, and the realisation of your true self. This path requires great fortune, as one must encounter a true spiritual friend to provide guidance and instruction. Only by putting in the necessary effort and refining your skills can you achieve success. At this time, Practitioner Su of the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre is fulfilling this vital role. He is leading everyone toward the goal of leaving suffering behind. He does not seek personal reward; his only wish is for all beings to be liberated from their pain. This is the true heart, action, and vow of a Buddha.
A Call to Cherish the Opportunity
All students of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre should cherish this rare opportunity. You must listen to the teachings, change your personality traits, and work to find your true self. By doing so, you can lead a life that is truly autonomous—a life no longer controlled by karma, , or demon crowds. It is not impossible to develop the skills to travel freely back to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Practitioner Su has achieved this, and you, too, have the opportunity to do the same. However, you must be diligent and act quickly. If you delay, the sudden arrival of impermanence or the manifestation of your karma will bring true suffering. Namo Amituofo.
