Namo Amituofo offers these profound insights into the nature of our existence, recorded by the disciple Venerable HaiZe.

The Ripple Effect of Thought

When your every thought and intention resonates with the countless, immeasurable spirits that coexist within your body, it triggers profound changes in your body, mind, and spirit. This state of suffering is what we call the manifestation of . These beings, who reside within you and cause obstacles, illness, and the process of aging, are your from countless past lives. As the cycle of karma unfolds, you experience the constant interplay of settling debts, seeking revenge, or repaying kindness.

The Fruits of Our Past

If the karma that manifests is good, you may enjoy a life of prosperity, wealth, and health. However, if the karma that manifests is negative, you will face a life of hardship, poverty, and the inevitable sufferings of aging, sickness, and death. Regardless of the path your life takes, you will eventually have to face the impermanence of death.

The Transition of the Spirit

When the physical body reaches the end of its life and begins to decay, those who have not transformed their karma must endure the suffering of the separation of the four elements. It is said that the spirit leaving at this time is as painful as a turtle being stripped of its shell. Conversely, for those who have practised goodness and accumulated merit during their lifetime, the spirit does not suffer the suffering of the separation of the four elements. Upon leaving the body, the spirit moves directly toward the higher realms, such as the heavenly realms, to enter the next life. Their destination is determined by the balance of their good and evil deeds, or by the strength of their final thought at the moment of death.

The Vow of the Practitioner

For the practitioner who has made a sincere vow to be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss, the path is different. By diligently chanting Namo Amituofo and aligning their heart and actions with the Buddha’s Vows, they receive the Buddha’s guidance at the moment of death. They are led directly into the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, which becomes their permanent sanctuary. There, they can continue their practice in the presence of Infinite Life and Infinite Light, eventually attaining Buddhahood and never again suffering in the cycle of rebirth.

A Sanctuary for

The Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss is the ultimate destination for all spirits to find liberation, leaving suffering behind to receive only happiness.
