The Jade Emperor's Revelation: Rain and the Power of Namo Amituofo
An Interview with the Jade Emperor on Successful Rain-making
Recorded on March 9, 2021

The Jade Emperor, a celestial ruler who oversees the affairs of the heavens and earth, sought deliverance through the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. Having witnessed the profound power of the Buddha’s name, he now resides within the protective light of the centre, having been guided by Practitioner Su. This interview, recorded on March 9, 2021, details his observations on the successful rain-making efforts and the salvation of sentient beings.
The Jade Emperor speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am the Jade Emperor. The rainfall that occurred this afternoon was the direct result of the salvation team at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre circling the globe while chanting Namo Amituofo. Since the last time it rained, they have accumulated a vast and abundant amount of energy, which was then released as a heavy downpour to nourish the earth. If any sentient beings on this earth were frightened, terrified, or even lost their lives due to this sudden, heavy rain, I offer my deepest and most sincere apologies! I humbly request that Practitioner Su perform for these beings. Although this was the result of the and the inevitable consequences they were destined to encounter within the cycle of cause and effect, it is still a connection formed. After all, for the smallest creatures—those that crawl and fly—to receive Chao Du is an opportunity that is difficult to encounter even in millions of years. Such a precious chance is fleeting, and I hope they can grasp it."
The Mechanics of Collective
"Earthly creatures rely on rain to survive. Currently, countries across the globe are suffering from severe water shortages; there is no water to irrigate the land, and many regions are parched and withered. Nations have been attempting to pray for rain according to their existing traditions. People, following their own faiths, pray earnestly to the deities in their hearts, hoping that the heavens will hear their pleas and send rain to relieve the suffering in their bodies and minds. In truth, when they send out these heartfelt prayers—even if they are spoken in foreign languages or belong to traditions other than those of China—as long as the prayer is sincere, I can hear their voices. However, I am often unable to help. You see, water shortages are largely caused by collective karma. Only by possessing a great power capable of alleviating this collective karma can rain be made possible. This is something that can be met but not sought; to have water without shortage is a blessing, and without the necessary merit, it is difficult to obtain."
"The location of the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, is special because Namo Amituofo is residing here. When Practitioner Su led the salvation team to chant Namo Amituofo while circling the globe, they clearly expressed the purpose of seeking rain for the Australian Buddhist centre. I, along with the Dragon Kings of the East, West, South, and North Seas, were invited to join this global chanting formation. I deeply felt that bringing rain to relieve the suffering of beings is a responsibility we all share. Therefore, I led the heavenly palace attendants and the celestial soldiers and generals to join in. I also saw the Dragon Kings leading their own legions of sea creatures to join the ranks of chanting. The energy was immense. Everyone, filled with for sentient beings, chanted the Buddha's name in unison. The heavens possess a virtue that delights in life and cannot bear to see beings suffer. Yet, to resolve this suffering, one must have the right causal conditions. Without the heart, the power, or the merit, one cannot provide substantive help to beings, nor can one unfold the concrete actions or the great power required to turn around collective karma, change the suffering of drought, and achieve the result of rainfall."
The Power of Selfless Practice
"The brilliance of the Buddha's teachings lies in their selfless, altruistic nature. The intensity of the vows made by such practitioners far exceeds the vows made by those who are self-interested. When this is coupled with genuine, diligent practice, and when the hearts of the accompanying beings resonate with these vows, one can obtain a true response. Previously, when Practitioner Su taught the beings of the Goombungee and Toowoomba lands to chant Namo Amituofo, they successfully received rain; this is the very principle at work. Currently, the salvation team's global chanting for rain has a heart-note intensity and a purity of vow that surpasses the former, which is why the response is even more rapid. This is the reason why, lately, we have seen heavy or light rain every few days. The current lineup of those chanting for rain is incredibly strong. Beyond the salvation team members—composed of Bodhisattvas from the cosmos and new Buddha-disciples—Practitioner Su has also invited Avalokiteshvara , Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva, the Pure Ocean-Wide Assembly of Bodhisattvas, the thirteen generations of Pure Land patriarchs, and many other venerable masters from the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Practitioner Su has also invited many monastics and notable figures whom he has delivered to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, along with myself and the four Dragon Kings who have recently joined."
"At present, I have received requests from various deities and spirits in China and Taiwan, responding to the pleas of local believers who hope for rain to resolve disasters. In China, there are also many believers praying to stop floods and water-related disasters. Whether it is a drought or a flood, both are manifestations of the collective karma of the local residents and the earthly creatures. The natural conditions presented are simply the circumstances that the majority of beings have attracted and are now experiencing. The rainfall patterns in China and Taiwan are currently influenced by the human pandemic and environmental anomalies, causing the precipitation to be unstable. In some parts of mainland China, rain has caused disasters, while in others, the rainfall is insufficient, impacting the lives of the people. It is at times like these that one realises the importance of a nation being peaceful and prosperous, with favourable weather. People today often dismiss these phrases as outdated relics of our ancestors, not realising that these are the very reasons a country can enjoy long-term stability and peace."
The Divine Duty of Rain-making
"Celestial soldiers and generals are stationed at the Buddhist centre, watching and reporting on whether the spirits responsible for the rain are performing their duties faithfully, ensuring that the Buddha-land does not lack water. Recently, there have been about three light rains and three heavy rains. These designations of 'light' or 'heavy' depend on the number of dark clouds gathered above the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre upon receiving notification. As long as the gathered clouds can produce rain after falling, the rain will come. Before the rain falls, one can observe the celestial signs. If the rain is gathered by the four Dragon Kings, the wind will rise first to notify the earthly beings that rain is coming. Then, the Thunder God will strike the thunder; if the Lightning God comes along, there will be flashes of lightning to notify the heavenly beings that rain is imminent. Finally, the Rain God can direct the dark clouds to where the rain should fall. Currently, the Wind God, Rain God, Thunder God, Lightning God, and all the spirits under their jurisdiction know that if they succeed in bringing rain to the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, they will have the opportunity to be led by Namo Amituofo and delivered by Practitioner Su to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss."
"Many groups of spirits are currently on standby, ready to head to the Buddhist centre to execute the duty of rain-making, in addition to their regular responsibilities. These spirits have held their positions for over a thousand years. Each one has been carefully selected for their faithful service and excellent performance, which is why they have the opportunity to shoulder the heavy responsibility of bringing rain to this Buddhist centre. Everyone is filled with anticipation for the chance to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Regarding Practitioner Su's lectures, the celestial soldiers, generals, heavenly beings, and the spirits stationed everywhere—especially those participating in the rain-making events—are mostly listening and learning on time, benefiting greatly. They also frequently attend the . Many heavenly beings, because they participated in the ceremonies and chanted and circled the Buddha with the masses, entered the golden Buddha-light and were able to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. I and many other heavenly beings marvel at this and are grateful for the Buddha's compassion in opening this great gate to the West, saving all suffering beings."
The Benefits of Namo Amituofo
"Where the rain falls, earthly creatures run, escape, and hide as best they can. Flowers, trees, soil, and sand—all beings open their mouths wide to drink their fill of rain, and the remaining water seeps into the ground to become groundwater. If there is a pond, and the soil around it is saturated, the moisture naturally seeps into the pond to become pond water. If the temperature rises and there is no rain for a long time, the pond water evaporates first, leaving the pond dry, and the groundwater around the pond also evaporates, causing the soil at the bottom and around the pond to crack. This is the scene of water and drought on earth."
"Looking at the current situation in the two major islands of Australia and New Zealand, New Zealand's water supply is adequate. In Australia, areas that were historically prone to water shortages, such as Toowoomba and Goombungee, have seen a very significant improvement in rainfall. The merit and benefits of chanting Namo Amituofo while circling the globe are sufficient to extend to Brisbane and even further afield. Climatically, one can see that due to the increase in rain and moisture, the intense summer heat and dry air of the past have been improved, bringing much coolness to the local residents. This is an added benefit of the successful rain-making. If it were not for the majestic power of the Buddha's name, it would be difficult to achieve such a 'two birds with one stone' benefit through other methods of rain-making. This situation is also because the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre has Namo Amituofo residing here, benefiting the local residents and allowing them to bid farewell to the plight of living without water, resolving a major difficulty for the local area and the nation. This is a result that can never be bought with money or any other means."
"The Buddha's compassion is only to resolve the suffering of living beings, without seeking any reward. In terms of the laws of karma and cause and effect, this can no longer be covered by the words 'immeasurable merit.' Especially when Practitioner Su's led the masses to chant the Holy Name 'Namo Amituofo,' because the Buddha's name, under the guidance of Practitioner Su, opened up the spaces for many local beings—cows, horses, kangaroos, land spirits, hillsides, flowers, trees, and beings dwelling within the clouds—they were given the opportunity to shed their karmic appearances, restore their original human forms, and receive Chao Du. This is a major transformation for the local magnetic field and the destiny of these beings; it has never happened here before."
"We have received the infinite gratitude of the local beings towards the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, and I take this opportunity to convey their thanks to Namo Amituofo, Practitioner Su, and the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre."
