The Long-Awaited Journey Home

Liang Zaizhi, the grandfather of Lay Practitioner Liang Huiyuan, sought deliverance through the Chao Du services at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia. He has successfully attained rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This interview, recorded by the chief writer Fa Ning on January 2, 2026, captures his reflections on his life and his profound gratitude for the path to liberation.

Lay Practitioner Liang Zaizhi speaks:

"Namo Amituofo. Today is the day I have been waiting for for so long—the day of my rebirth in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss! Looking at the magnificent, towering figure of Namo Amituofo standing right before me, I immediately knelt and bowed my head to the ground. I said, 'Gratitude, infinite gratitude.' I am also deeply grateful to Practitioner Su for guiding us. In a single instant, we were transported from the Western Dharma-Nature Land to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I never imagined that the journey could be so incredibly swift. This truly is the world of the Buddha!

Gratitude for a Granddaughter's Devotion

I never expected that I, Liang Zaizhi, would be blessed with such a wonderful granddaughter as Liang Huiyuan. Not only have you begun to study the Buddha's teachings, but you have also found the true path at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, located all the way in Australia. Seeing you at your age, having encountered the genuine Dharma, I, your grandfather, can finally rest easy. I am so grateful for your dedication in performing this Chao Du for me. Your heart is so compassionate and kind; it is because of this that your grandmother was also able to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Huiyuan, your name is truly fitting. The character 'Yuan' signifies perfection and completion. You have truly achieved perfection this time. By performing this deliverance for so many, you will surely return to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss in perfect completion yourself!

Reflections on a Life and the Dharma

Looking back on my time in the human world, although it feels like a distant memory now, the emotions it stirs are still profound. In those days, I never had the opportunity to study the Buddha's teachings. I mistakenly thought that Buddhism was just an ordinary religion. Today, I realise how wrong I was. While listening to the Dharma talks in the Western Dharma-Nature Land, and now listening to Namo Amituofo expound the sutras here in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss, I have come to understand so many truths. Because of this, I look back on my past with nothing but complete understanding and gratitude. I do not feel any pain; my heart is simply at peace, in a state of natural calm.

Returning to the Original Home

I am currently sitting within a lotus flower, much like everyone else here in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I feel so free and at ease; there is not a single trace of constraint or worry in my heart. Once upon a time, I, Liang Zaizhi, was a good person, though I did have a bit of a temper. I did not know how to correct my own faults or change my personality, and so I suppose I left the human world carrying the pain and regrets of life. Fortunately, my own good roots, blessings, and Causal Conditions were deep enough, and I had the support of the Buddha's compassion and my granddaughter's kindness. I only realise now that such an opportunity is not something that can be bought with mere luck. I saw that I had actually come to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss once before, but I drifted away. This chain of Causal Conditions is truly inconceivable. To think that one day I could once again feel the great compassion of the Buddha and return to this, my original home.

A Final Message to the Living

In closing, I hope that my family and friends who are still in the human world will come to know of this place, the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, as soon as possible. This is truly not an ordinary temple. It is a place where Namo Amituofo is residing, and where there are people who can truly guide you to rebirth in the Western Pure Land. If you encounter this, if you come to know the Buddha, please do not let the opportunity slip by. Otherwise, who knows how long you will have to wait for such a chance to come again?

I am grateful for the compassionate acceptance of Namo Amituofo. This disciple must now go to chant Buddha's name. I am deeply grateful for the compassionate guidance of Practitioner Su.
