Words of Namo Amituofo:

The true value of the human body lies in its capacity to serve as a vehicle for True Cultivation. While this body is ultimately a temporary vessel, it is, in its present state, a . It is a place where impurities accumulate, giving rise to a myriad of phenomena. It is the dwelling place of your , and it is the very site where the forces of play out their cycle of seeking revenge and repaying grievances.

The Inhabitants of the Karmic Vessel

Whenever your heart is stirred by every thought and intention, especially when those thoughts are tainted by negativity or malice, you create an opening. This is the precise moment when your karmic creditors manifest. It is also when demon crowds, ghost deities, and other attached spirits find the opportunity to enter your body. These beings are able to remain within you because your human body possesses a specific type of vital energy. Consider how these entities interact with your physical form:

  • Demon crowds: They enter to sustain themselves using your human energy, and they often use their influence to alter your thoughts or control your actions.
  • Ghost deities: They seek shelter within your body to protect themselves from the elements, while simultaneously feeding upon your vital life force to survive.
  • Attached spirits: These beings permeate your entire physical existence, residing within your blood, your internal organs, and every single cell of your body, which is composed of the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind.

Regardless of their specific nature, until you successfully transform your karma, your body remains a resource used by these karmic creditors, demon crowds, ghost deities, and attached spirits. They are not merely external observers; they are deeply embedded within your very being.

The Path of Purification

The practice of purification is the only way to halt these selfish desires. By diligently working to let go of your ego-attachment, your personal desires, and your sense of self, you begin to clear the internal landscape. As you reduce your delusion, discrimination, and attachment, the number of attached spirits residing within you will naturally decrease, eventually fading away entirely.

Only by achieving a state of and total selflessness can you truly stop the cycle of karma and prevent your karmic creditors from manifesting. This is why those who can chant one Buddha's name to the end are the ones who truly understand the difference between the false and the real. They are the ones who have clearly recognised the distinction between the illusory world and the ultimate Truth.

to the Luminous Body

When you commit yourself to this path, the pollution within your body will gradually be washed away. As the grime is removed and your heart becomes pure, you will finally see your true nature. In that moment of clarity, you will attain the Luminous Body. This is the ultimate goal of your practice: to transcend the limitations of the karmic vessel and return to the purity of your original nature.
