The Trap of Repeated Errors

Words of Namo Amituofo. Many of you have experienced the frustration of committing the same mistake over and over again. You often find yourselves trapped in a cycle where you repeat an error, only to look back and wonder how it happened once more. In these moments, you often construct elaborate justifications for your actions. You may have many reasons, many excuses, and many explanations for why you acted as you did. You may feel that your reasons are perfectly logical and that your position is entirely defensible.

However, regardless of how reasonable your excuses may seem, and no matter how firmly you believe your justifications stand up to scrutiny, the reality remains unchanged: the mistake was committed. Furthermore, it was committed again and again. When you look at the results of these repeated actions, you must ask yourself a difficult question: who is the one who truly suffers? Who is the one who bears the weight of the harm caused? The answer is clear: it is you, yourself.

The Immutable Law of

My dear children, you must understand that the laws of karma and cause and effect are absolute. No one can bear these consequences for you. Every action you take, every thought you harbour, and every mistake you repeat is a matter of your own making, and therefore, you must be the one to experience the results. The motivations behind your actions and the reasons you give for your behaviour are all contained within the vast, unfolding tapestry of and the causes and effects.

Those who have not yet received proper Buddhist education may not fully understand or believe in the laws of karma and cause and effect. However, this lack of understanding does not change the reality of the situation. Because these laws are the Universal Principles of the universe, they operate with perfect precision regardless of whether you are aware of them or whether you choose to believe in them. The universe functions according to these Truths, and they are always in motion, guiding the trajectory of your life.

The Choice Between Suffering and

When you commit the same mistake repeatedly, regardless of the reasons or excuses you provide, the one who suffers the most is always yourself. You must realise this Truth clearly. If you choose to change your ways, you can stop the cycle of suffering. If you continue to repeat these errors without making a sincere effort to change, how can you possibly avoid the pain that causes you to suffer greatly?

My dear children, you stand at a crossroads. You must decide which path you will take:

  • Will you acknowledge your mistakes, change your ways, and finally leave suffering behind?Or will you continue to repeat the same errors, allowing your suffering to grow deeper and more intense with each passing moment?

The choice is yours to make, and the time to choose is now. Namo Amituofo.
