Amitabha Buddha's discourse:

Transforming Through Stillness

No matter what others may say about me—whether they claim I have said things I did not, or deny the truths I have spoken—any slander cast upon me is simply a means for me to dissolve my karma. In the past, I must have treated others in the same way. Every fruit has a cause, and every cause has a fruit. If I do not give rise to anger, if I remain free of resentment, and if I maintain a calm and peaceful heart, I can be fiercely diligent in dissolving old karma. By dissolving these karmic debts one by one, I ensure that I do not continue to create new, negative ties in the cycle of cause and effect.

Seeing the Buddha in Every Being

No matter how others treat me, I must treat them as a Buddha. This is because both they and I possess the same true self; the only difference lies in whether one is currently confused or awakened. If you receive praise for your diligent practice, you must express gratitude by saying, "Namo Amituofo, this is the blessing of the Buddha." A clear heart understands that this is the application of the two powers—the power of the Buddha and one's own effort. It is only possible through the Buddha's . Furthermore, one must keep the heart unmoved. Do not become attached to praise, for you must know that everything unfolds in the cycle of cause and effect.

The Necessity of Repentance and Change

Even when you suffer from the karmic manifestations of Aging, sickness, and death, you must understand that this is because your personality has not yet changed and your karma has not yet been transformed. The beings within our bodies are manifesting according to their karma to seek revenge. At such a time, do not complain or feel dissatisfied. If you do, you are simply adding new karma upon the old. You must engage in repenting and quickly change your personality traits. Otherwise, you will continue to suffer the pains of Aging, sickness, and death.

The Path of Fierce Diligence

Be fiercely diligent in changing your personality. Do not be led astray by , Speech, and Mind of others. Do not let their actions trigger your anger or cause you to create new karma. You must practise , be selfless, and remain humble and modest. Be fiercely diligent and chant one Buddha's name to the end. 24/7, keep the Buddha in your heart, chant the Buddha's name with your mouth, hear the Buddha's name with your ears, and see the Buddha with your eyes. See every single being as a Buddha!

Saving Oneself to Save All Beings

If you wish to correct your past mistakes and acknowledge your own shortcomings, you must be fiercely diligent. Only by combining your own efforts with the Buddha's blessings can your skills truly advance. Your priority must be to save yourself. The beings within our bodies must be saved first; only then will you have the opportunity to be saved. Once you have attained liberation, you must save all suffering beings. Namo Amituofo.
