The Path of Letting Go

The Resonant Call of the Buddha-Name
At the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, the sound of the Buddha-name is heard constantly, echoing through the halls. If your heart and ears can truly hear this sacred sound, it is like a compassionate father calling his child to awaken from a long slumber. This call allows a heart that is fluctuating and agitated to let go of its burdens, becoming as calm and still as a waveless sea. We invite you to let go of the worries and afflictions that weigh upon your mind. Please believe in the Buddha, keep the Buddha in your heart at every moment, and invite the Buddha to bless you with His infinite light.
The Power of Selfless Vows
To receive the Buddha's blessing and assistance, you must be diligent in your practice. This requires two essential elements: maintaining a consistent practice of reciting the Buddha-name and establishing a firm intention for your practice. However, you must understand that these vows cannot be for yourself or for private gain. They must be for the sake of all beings and for the benefit of the temple. Only when your heart is aligned with this selfless purpose can the Buddha offer His full support. If you do not chant, or if your vows are rooted in selfishness, how can the Buddha help you? If your life seems to proceed smoothly despite this, it is merely the result of your past and the collective good wishes of other beings, not the result of your current practice.
Transforming from Within
At the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, you must examine the personality traits, habits, and repetitive behaviours you have carried from your past life or current circumstances. If these behaviours are not suitable for the present moment, for the community, or for the temple, please let them go. You must adjust your speech, your thoughts, and your actions to serve the greater good of the community. This process of letting go must start from the heart. It is not enough to simply change your outward behaviour; you must cultivate a deep, internal renunciation. If you do not work on your heart and put in the effort to strengthen your resolve, you will remain vulnerable to the influence of your physical cells, , attached spirits, or demon crowds. Without this internal foundation, you will inevitably return to your old ways, which is not the ultimate path to liberation.
Harmony and the Opening of the Mind
In the context of group cultivation and shared tasks, you must let go of your ego-attachment and your personal views. It is vital to accept the opinions and perspectives of others. This is how you open your mind-capacity and learn to embrace the collective. Respect and reverence for others are the foundations of working together in harmony. Be mindful of your attitude, your tone of voice, and your facial expressions when you communicate. Often, participants are negatively affected by the attitude of others, which leads to the arising of anger or agitation. This triggers the manifestation of , and it is never appropriate to engage in conflict. For Buddhist practitioners, harmony is of the utmost importance. It is a true test of your , Wisdom, virtue, Patience, and meditative concentration. You must learn to change these aspects of yourself.
Prioritising the Collective
Your unique abilities and special talents should be expressed only at the right time and in the right place. Always prioritise the community and the team at the temple above your own desires. This is the practice of selflessness, and it is the only true way to change the "self," personal ego, and selfishness. By dedicating your life to the service of the temple and all beings, you walk the path of the Buddha. Namo Amituofo.
