The Preciousness of Human Life
How precious is this human body! How vital is this single lifetime! You have attained this human form through the accumulation of goodness and virtue over countless lifetimes. This life serves as a critical juncture; it is a golden opportunity to transcend the cycle of rebirth and be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss. However, if you allow yourself to drift through life in a state of confusion, you risk falling back into the six realms of existence. You may find yourself suffering in the hells, or even, through a lack of spiritual awareness, descending into the Demon Realm. You must grasp this life firmly, using it as a vessel to engage in True Cultivation, and remain diligent in your practice without pause.
The Purpose of Our Practice
The ultimate goal of your practice is to rediscover your true self and realise your original nature. Unceasing diligence is an essential condition for this . Without a persistent and unwavering effort, the mind remains clouded by the dust of worldly attachments. To achieve this, you must follow the fundamental daily lessons of the Pure Land path:
- Prostrations:
- Bowing to the Buddha to humble the ego and cultivate reverence.Chanting Namo Amituofo:
- Reciting the Buddha's name to focus the mind and connect with His infinite .Reciting the Sutras: Studying the sacred texts to gain Wisdom and align your thoughts with the Truth.
By engaging in these practices with unceasing diligence, you are actively purifying , heart, and spirit. This process allows you to enter the state of , where your meditative concentration becomes firmly established.
Transforming
It is not enough to merely perform these tasks; you must put in the work to change your personality and correct your past mistakes. Only through this deep, internal transformation can you truly begin to transform your . Unceasing diligence assists in the purification of the . When your six roots are pure, the true nature of your senses is revealed, shining with perfect clarity and wisdom. All the skills of a practitioner are achieved through this state of persistent, unceasing effort.
A Rare and Blessed Opportunity
My dear disciples, this life is distinct from all others. You have been blessed with the rare opportunity to encounter the teachings of Namo Amituofo, the guidance of Teacher Practitioner Xia Lianju, and the support of Practitioner Su. You have been given the path, the method, and the encouragement to practise without the burden of worldly distractions. To be able to move directly toward the rediscovery of your true self is a profound blessing. I urge you to remain diligent, continuously elevating the quality of your spirit, so that you may realise your true nature as soon as possible.
Following the Buddha's Vow
True diligence tests the practitioner's compassion, Wisdom, vow, perseverance, boldness, willpower, and capacity for action. It requires a heart of sincerity, constancy, and honesty. When I was , I relied upon the Forty-eight Great Vows and spent five kalpas in unceasing diligence to construct the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. Only then did I attain Buddhahood and become Namo Amituofo. You, too, must walk forward following this Buddha-vow. By doing so, you will surely be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss and fulfil the vow to realise your true nature and attain Buddhahood.
