The Path to Buddhahood
Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded by Venerable HaiZe on October 16, 2022
My dear children, all beings possess the true self and Buddha-nature. You, the students of Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre, are among these beings. Each one of you has the potential to become a Buddha, and there will surely come a day when you attain this state.
The Crucial Question of Timing
How long will it take for this day to arrive? Will it be in this very life, while you still possess a physical form, allowing you to become a Buddha in the flesh just as Practitioner Su has? Or will you enter the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss to complete your journey along the Buddha's path? Or, perhaps, will you fail to enter the Western Land and instead continue to drift through the six realms of existence? If you miss this opportunity, when will you ever encounter Namo Amituofo or Practitioner Su again? Only those who are connected by karmic affinity will have the chance to be saved.
Why Endure Unnecessary Suffering?
If you do not seize this moment, how much more suffering and pain must you endure? Why would you choose to continue in such a state? Today, both Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su are present here at Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary. This is the most auspicious time for you to realise your true nature and attain Buddhahood. You must be proactive and fiercely diligent. You must overcome every difficulty and pass every test that comes your way. Only by truly understanding the laws of the world can you find the opportunity to see your true nature.
The Nature of Buddhahood and Personal Responsibility
What does it mean to become a Buddha? A Buddha is one who possesses great , great wisdom, great clarity, and great power. A Buddha is omniscient and omnipotent. However, individual matters—such as one's own —must be borne by the individual. You have been able to enter Hsiang Kuang: A Sacred Sanctuary because you have already traversed a long journey and overcome many external obstacles. Now that you are here, you must face your own karma, your , your spiritual attachments, and the state of your own physical body with absolute sincerity.
The Path of Purification
If you can overcome and resolve these issues, you will have passed the test, and your spirit will have the opportunity to ascend. -Mind-Spirit must be purified simultaneously so that they can function in harmony. This process will clear the obstructions within your body, making it transparent and unobstructed. When your mind is clear and distinct, you will see your true self. This is the moment you reclaim your original nature.
