The physical body is merely a vessel that is subject to the inevitable processes of aging and illness, yet the spirit itself does not die. When you truly understand this, both and the spirit can receive the immense benefits of the . The key to this realisation is simple: you must commit yourself to the practice of chanting the name of the Buddha.

The Eternal Nature of the Spirit

The body is temporary, but the spirit is enduring. Many beings suffer deeply because they identify too closely with the physical form, which is destined to decay. However, by recognising the true nature of the spirit, you can begin to transcend the limitations of the physical realm. When you focus on the spirit rather than the fleeting sensations of the body, you open yourself to a higher state of existence.

The Power of the Six-Character Name

The most direct way to achieve this liberation is through the practice of chanting. Simply recite the name of Namo Amituofo. This six-character name is a powerful sound that resonates throughout the heavens. Do not let your mind wander to other thoughts; focus your entire being on the Buddha. Chant continuously, without pause, and let the name of Namo Amituofo fill your heart and mind. This is the most effective way to maintain your focus and keep your practice steady.

Releasing the Weight of the Past

Many spirits who have passed on no longer possess a physical body, yet they continue to carry the heavy burden of past grievances and suffering. These memories remain etched within the heart and the . Because of this, they continue to seek revenge or dwell in the pain of their past lives. This cycle of suffering is what keeps them trapped in the cycle of rebirth. It is time to let these burdens go.

Entering the Buddha-light

I counsel all of you, both the living and the spirits, to chant Namo Amituofo together. By doing so, you can enter the radiant Buddha-light, which will wash away your pain and suffering. Let go of the past; do not let it disturb your heart any longer. Instead, unite in your practice so that you may all reside together in the of Ultimate Bliss, the true Land of Peace and .
