The Physical Body as an Obstacle: Offering One's Life to the Buddha
Practitioner Su's 51st Dharma Talk
Recorded on May 12, 2017

In this fifty-first talk, Practitioner Su shares profound insights from his direct dialogue with Namo Amituofo. The central theme of this discourse is the understanding that our physical body, while a vessel for practice, often acts as a significant obstacle on the path to .
The Physical Body as an Obstacle
We often become overly attached to our physical form, prioritising its comfort and desires over the cultivation of our true nature. Practitioner Su explains that this attachment creates a barrier, trapping us within the cycle of rebirth and preventing the full manifestation of our wisdom. To truly progress, one must recognise the limitations of this transient form and not allow it to dictate the direction of one's spiritual journey.
Offering One's Life to the Buddha
The concept of offering one's life to the Buddha is not about physical sacrifice, but about the total surrender of the ego and the dedication of every moment to the service of all beings. By aligning our thoughts, words, and actions with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, we transform our existence into an offering. This practice allows us to move from confusion to awakening, from wrong paths to the right path, and from impurity to purity.
As we listen to these teachings, let us reflect on how we can better utilise our time to leave suffering behind and find true happiness. May we all strive to chant Namo Amituofo all the way, ensuring our eventual rebirth in the of Ultimate Bliss. Namo Amituofo.
