The Mystery of Beginnings

Every event in our lives has a beginning. Some origins are lost to the vast currents of time, while others unfold right before our very eyes. When you initiate a beginning, you are an active participant in the unfolding of that cause, not merely a bystander. If a beginning requires you to overcome significant obstacles, it is a sign that this opportunity is truly hard-won. It has not come easily, and therefore, you must cherish this opportunity with your whole heart.

A Sanctuary Where Namo Amituofo Abides

The Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre is a sacred space where Namo Amituofo is residing here. Because this is a place of such profound spiritual significance, everything that manifests within these walls is hard-won. It is the result of countless causes and conditions coming together in perfect harmony.

For the fourfold assembly who participate in the life of this Centre, the difference between the past and the present is clear. You have witnessed the dedication and the immense effort required to maintain this environment. It is not a simple task to sustain such a sanctuary.

The Responsibility of the Fourfold Assembly

Many elements must come together to support the work of the Centre. This requires the dedicated cooperation of many people, the careful management of financial resources, and the constant attention to the daily needs of the community, including food, clothing, and shelter. Because of this, the fourfold assembly must always keep a heart of gratitude. You must recognise that everything you experience here is hard-won and should never be taken for granted.

The Rarity of Human Life

Beyond the physical environment of the Centre, consider the rarity of your own existence. To obtain a human body is a rare and precious event. To be here, in this time and this place, able to enter the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre and hear the , is even more extraordinary. You have been given a golden opportunity to leave suffering behind and find happiness in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. You must not let this life pass in vain.

The Path of Heart-Cultivation

The most important task before you is to strive with diligent practice. True practice is primarily a matter of the heart. If you wish to achieve success in your spiritual journey, you must put in the work at the level of your own heart and mind. This involves three essential steps: correcting the heart by identifying and rectifying erroneous views; adjusting the heart by keeping it aligned with the Truth; and transforming the heart by shifting your mental notes, turning negative thoughts into positive ones, transforming evil into Goodness, and moving from wrong paths to the right path.

Therefore, the fourfold assembly must possess a keen awareness. You must be willing to adjust and correct yourselves, setting high standards for your own conduct and encouraging one another along the way. This is the only true path to . Namo Amituofo.
