The Infinite Nature of Silence

Silence is far more powerful than sound. While spoken words are limited by boundaries and definitions, true silence encompasses the infinite and the boundless. When you dwell in silence, you are not merely absent of noise; you are entering a state that can contain the vastness of the universe itself. In contrast, when we speak, our expressions are constrained by the limitations of language and the finite nature of our .

Looking Inward to Find the Truth

When you remain silent and turn your attention inward, you begin the essential work of self-reflection. You must realise that the challenges you face are often reflections of your own heart, rather than the faults of others. When you discover the dust of defilement within your mind, you must act quickly to clear it away. By doing so, you will find that clarity and light are the natural results of self-purification. If you constantly seek answers in the external world, you create endless noise and forget to reflect upon your own mind. The dust of worldly attachments will continue to accumulate, layer upon layer, eventually forming a thick crust of defilement that obscures the light of your true self. How can you expect to find purity if you do not look within?

Preserving Your Inner Energy

In the state of silence, where there is no movement, your energy is naturally stored and preserved. However, when you allow your voice and your thoughts to scatter outward, your precious energy dissipates. You must learn to cultivate stillness and move through life with steady, deliberate steps. Do not be hurried or restless, for a hurried life leads to a scattered mind. True dignity and presence are cultivated in the quiet moments of daily life. Only when you have mastered this inner stillness can you truly influence and inspire other beings, leading them to respect the path of the .

The Unity of All Beings

When you are silent and still, you can begin to listen to the subtle sounds of your own body. You can hear the voices of your cells and the collective heart of all beings. You will come to realise that we are all one. When the collective heart of beings is at peace, remains healthy and vibrant. Conversely, when there is resentment and the heart is agitated, illness inevitably arises. This is the profound connection between our mental state and our physical well-being.

the True Self

This is why we chant Buddha's name. We must chant with a pure heart, calling out with every breath. As you chant, you are not merely making a sound; you are calling out to awaken the true self that already resides within your own nature. Through this constant, sincere practice of chanting Namo Amituofo, you will leave suffering behind and find the happiness that is your original birthright. Namo Amituofo.
