An Interview with Venerable Ni Luwan of the Wasela Planet
Recorded on July 13, 2018
This is a record of an interview with Venerable Ni Luwan, who sought at the Hsiang Kuang Buddhist Centre in Australia. She now resides in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This account reflects upon her life approximately 19.43 million years ago. Recorded by the chief writer, Shi Fa Jing, on July 13, 2018.
Venerable Ni Luwan speaks:
"Namo Amituofo. I am Venerable Ni Luwan, the five hundred and eighty-ninth venerable to be interviewed. I was born nineteen million, four hundred and thirty thousand years ago on a beautiful world called the Wasela Planet, which is located at a vast distance from Earth.
The people on my planet all shared the same appearance, differing only in height. As we aged, our height would naturally increase. At that time, the eldest among us was fifty million and twelve thousand years old. We could not even see his head; if he stood before us, he appeared like a vast, soft wall. You could pass right through his body. Even though you felt so small in his presence, he was always aware of your existence. He was incredibly careful never to harm anyone, constantly radiating a bright, pure atmosphere and a gentle, elegant fragrance—a natural scent emitted from his very being. The entire planet was permeated with various delicate, refreshing aromas.
The Game of Energy and Light
From the moment we were born, we were capable of movement. We did not need feet, and because our forms were small, our natural movement was quite slow. Every individual possessed a unique magnetic field, which we could perceive from a great distance. Children had weaker magnetic fields, so the elders moved with extreme gentleness to avoid causing any harm. The children, however, were always bouncing around. Although our parents often tried to restrain us, we were mischievous and loved to play freely.
We particularly enjoyed a game we called 'Hide and Seek.' If you held your breath for a while, your energy supply would be interrupted, causing your physical form to weaken until you gradually vanished from sight. The one who was 'it' had to be incredibly sharp to sense where we had disappeared to and then call out, 'Here!' When they accurately identified the location, it triggered an energy response in the hidden child, causing them to reappear. If a child was not found, they could simply say, 'I am coming out,' and their own intention would trigger the energy supply, allowing them to manifest their form once again.
In this game, the child who discovered the most companions was considered the most sensitive. Naturally, the older children had more experience and greater sensitivity, making the task easier for them. However, if a child had defects in their Six Roots, or if their heart was troubled—if they lacked and wore a dull expression—their magnetic field would appear dark, their sensitivity would diminish, and their movements would naturally slow down. Yet, we only ever treated these children with care and patience. We never looked down upon them or felt any dissatisfaction, because if we did, our own energy would automatically weaken, leaving us feeling powerless. This was a warning, a sign that such thoughts were incorrect. We would immediately strive to improve, and as soon as we felt the intention to repent and change our ways, our energy would gradually return.
The Sorrow of Loss and the Golden Light
Time, days, and nights had no impact on us because our lifespans were incredibly long. A 'day' consisted of a very long period of light, followed by a very long period of darkness. During the day, our energy levels fluctuated based on our actions and thoughts, while the night allowed us to rest and automatically replenish the energy consumed during the day. It was in this environment that we grew.
I was a normal child until the year I turned one hundred, when my father passed away. It was the first time I had ever experienced the sorrow of parting from a loved one. My father cherished me deeply because my magnetic field energy was very similar to his, and I was their only child. On our planet, the next generation is conceived through intention; the parent with the stronger intention determines the child's energy signature. I could clearly understand my father's thoughts. Often, when I suggested something, he would be astonished because it was exactly what he had been thinking. When he passed, I felt as though I had lost my confidant and my pillar of support. I had always relied on him; a simple glance from him was enough to understand his meaning, and his nod of approval gave me such a profound sense of security.
On our planet, one hundred years old is still considered a small child, so it was permissible to be sad. However, one had to recover, or the energy would continue to drain away. That is exactly what happened to me. I could no longer hear or see clearly; I lost , becoming weak and falling into a deep sleep. My mother tried everything to transmit her energy to me, but that was not permitted, nor was it generally possible. While I was in that state of slumber, I saw my father shaking his head at me. I knew he was telling me that I could not continue like this and that I had to pull myself together. But I could not control myself; I could only let myself drift away, until a golden light illuminated everything around me and my entire body. A tall, majestic elder appeared before me, with a kind face and gentle eyes. Within the golden light, six characters emerged: Namo Amituofo. They felt so familiar! Had I seen them before? I remembered my father mentioning that Namo Amituofo was the guardian Buddha of our planet. He said that as long as you chant His name and believe in Him, He will lead you to His world. Namo Amituofo is the embodiment of all that is true, good, and beautiful. I saw it then—it was truly as my father had said!
A Reunion Across Millions of Years
I sincerely and movedly chanted, 'Namo Amituofo.' Suddenly, the sound of the Buddha-name filled my ears, and I began to chant along with it, one phrase after another. I do not know how much time passed, but I felt my body become light and airy. My spirit had separated from my physical form, and I followed Namo Amituofo to His world. From that moment on, I became a member of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Every day, I am with Namo Amituofo, just as I am with Practitioner Su every day now, living a life that is renewed each moment. Although the days and nights here pass with such rapidity, our time is never wasted. We are busy with the cultivation and healing at Practitioner Su's side, busy with the Chao Du of beings across the Earth, the stars, and other realms, and busy listening to the teachings of Practitioner Su. It is a life of freedom and fulfilment.
In the human world, one day is illusory and impermanent. Amidst all the changes, if one keeps the heart steady and the Buddha-name within, one will find true stability. There is no worry or disturbance; there is only peace. The surrounding environment does not move the heart. When the primary soul is transformed and relies on the Buddha, it can influence the environment. Turning the illusory into the real—that is the true cultivation.
The Rebirth of a Planet
Recently, during the morning Chao Du performed by Practitioner Su's team, I had the good fortune to see my home planet, Wasela, once again. Although over eighteen million years have passed, it still exists. Many of the original elders have passed away and become guardian spirits orbiting the planet, preventing foreign spirits from invading and harming the peace of their descendants. I learned this during the Chao Du; the ancestral spirits, passed down through generations, were protecting the planet from above in their invisible forms. To my surprise, I even saw my father's spirit among them! My heart and my father's heart were still in sync; even after millions of years in the spiritual realms, that connection remained. As our eyes met, I hurriedly called out to my father and all the ancestral spirits, urging them to move quickly toward the golden light of Practitioner Su so that they could go to the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss of Namo Amituofo. Namo Amituofo is the guardian of our planet, and now, Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su have come to lead everyone back to our home in the West. In fact, the Buddha-light was illuminating the entire land, and I could see some ancestral spirits already flying forward. However, some still seemed hesitant, wishing to continue guarding the planet. I quickly sent out a mental note, hoping that the ancestral spirits could find true rest and be reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, so that their descendants would have the opportunity to follow them there. Upon hearing this, the ancestral spirits flew toward the of Practitioner Su. To my amazement, once the ancestral spirits no longer covered the exterior of the planet, it began to radiate a light even brighter than before! I immediately sent a message to my father and the ancestors: 'Our planet is brighter than it has ever been!'
I am so grateful for the of the Buddha, who performed Chao Du for our ancestral spirits and allowed our planet to be reborn, ensuring that our descendants can continue to live on this peaceful world. Most importantly, we must scatter the of 'Namo Amituofo' into the hearts of every descendant on the planet. It was as if Namo Amituofo heard my request; the six-character Buddha-name, 'Namo Amituofo,' appeared, constantly shimmering and orbiting the planet. At the same time, the sound of the Buddha-name penetrated the planet along with the Buddha-light, allowing the descendants of this time to hear and know the magnificent manifestation of the Buddha-name. One day, they will surely have the opportunity to enter the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss.
The grace of Namo Amituofo and Practitioner Su is vast and boundless, their virtues infinite. For the Wasela Planet and the immeasurable and boundless sentient beings reborn in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss, I offer my infinite gratitude!
Namo Amituofo!"
