The Shift of Space: Teachings from Namo Amituofo
Recorded and transcribed by Namo Amituofo’s disciple, Venerable HaiZe
The Labyrinth of Wandering Spirits
Disciples of the fourfold assembly, I speak to you now. When you find yourselves overcome by , you are often entering a different dimension of existence. In this state, it is frequently difficult to return to full . You may remain in this state until you hear the resonant sound of the big bell, the rhythmic striking of the wooden board, or the powerful Lion’s Roar of Practitioner Su. Even then, hearing these sounds does not guarantee that you will awaken immediately. This demonstrates the depth of your drowsiness and the profound nature of the space into which your spirit has wandered.
When you are able to quickly shift your space back to the present, you must understand that the sounds of the big bell, the wooden board, and the voice of Practitioner Su are all intended to awaken the spirit that has entered another dimension. These sounds serve as a call to return your spirit to the space where it truly belongs at this moment. Whether your practice can improve and whether you can see your true nature depends entirely on whether you can save yourself.
The Sanctuary of a Pure Heart
To achieve this, you must allow your heart to remain in a state of purification and stability at all times. You must ensure that your mind does not fluctuate or become agitated. You should strive to ensure that everything you see, think, do, and say is aligned with the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way:
- See only the Goodness in all things.
- Think only of the Goodness in all things.
- Do only what is Good.
- Speak only what is Good.
By doing this, you allow your spirit to remain in this pure space and this stable state. If you fall into drowsiness and enter another space, it means your spirit has shifted from this current state into another dimension. What kind of space is it that you have entered? It could be the space within the cells of your body, or it could be the space inhabited by the beings who have awakened within you. In either case, these are spaces into which your spirit has been pulled.
The Shadows of Karmic Debt
The beings who inhabit these spaces may include your who seek revenge and repay grievances, attached spirits, or even demon crowds. The events that occur within these spaces are varied and complex. They may involve , anger, sorrow, or happiness, spanning different eras, roles, and situations. You can say that these are the spaces where the beings who have awakened within your body reside, as recorded in your . Alternatively, these spaces may be manifestations created by these beings. In any case, these are the dimensions into which your spirit is being drawn.
You can often learn which beings are pulling your spirit into these spaces and what kind of spaces they are by visiting the beings who have been invited through the memorial tablets. If your spirit is pulled into a space and cannot find its way out, you become trapped. In such a situation, you lose the ability to be the master of your own life. Instead, the beings within you become the masters, and your body is controlled by your .
The Radiance of the True Self
Therefore, the appearance of drowsiness, whether it manifests as closed eyes or falling asleep, is in reality your spirit entering another space. This is a situation that those with open eyes can clearly see. In the state where your eyes are closed and you cannot see, can your body know the condition of your spirit? Most of the time, you do not know, because your body is being controlled by these beings.
A body that has undergone purification is not controlled by karma. This means it is no longer under the control of karmic creditors or other attached spirits. Alternatively, it means these beings have been resolved through the process of and have shifted to a better space, leaving their suffering behind. In a purified body, the more transparent, clear, and bright the cells become, the more your spirit can reveal its pure nature and capabilities, eventually leading to the state of an awakened being. This is the process of True Cultivation.
Those who have realised their true nature will find that the cells of their entire body become transparent and radiate light. If the beings within your body accept the Buddha’s teachings or the purification of the Buddha-name, they will leave their original karmic spaces. They will shift to a space of Goodness and purity, becoming beings of Goodness and purity themselves. When this happens, they will no longer interfere with or obstruct your true self, and you will no longer experience the drowsiness of entering other spaces. At this time, your true self will also be good and pure, eventually becoming perfectly pure and perfectly good, allowing you to see your true nature. Namo Amituofo.
