The Infinite Radiance of the Buddha

On the twelfth day of the Taiwan, Hong Kong, and World Disaster Relief and Blessing Assembly, we gathered in the first session to receive the compassionate guidance of Namo Amituofo. When you gaze directly into the eyes of the Buddha, you are not merely looking at a statue or an image; you are connecting with a source of infinite and boundless light. This light is the essence of the Buddha's , flowing forth to touch the hearts of all beings who seek refuge.

A Healing Touch for the Spirit

This spiritual Soft Light is a precious gift bestowed upon you, the child of the Buddha, to grant you a clear and awakened perception. If you look closely with a sincere heart, you will feel a profound sense of spiritual connection. This Soft Light is radiating continuously, without end, filling the space around you with its gentle warmth. It is important to understand that this experience is not intended for you to become attached to or to obsess over. Rather, it is a momentary, profound sense of healing—a soothing balm for a weary spirit.

The Necessity of Purification

You may ask yourself: Why is it necessary to have such a purifying force in my life? The answer lies in the nature of the world in which you live. As a practitioner, you often find yourself in need of a reliable support system to navigate the complexities of existence. This purifying power serves several vital functions in your journey:

  • It provides a stable foundation for your daily life, helping you to remain grounded amidst the chaos of the world.
  • It assists you in overcoming the obstacles that hinder your progress, allowing you to move forward with greater ease.
  • It fosters your spiritual growth, ensuring that your practice remains consistent and focused.
  • It acts as a protective shield, helping you to maintain the purity of your heart and mind.

Returning to the True Self

Learning and purification are the fundamental pillars of your practice. This Soft Light is here to assist you, to guide you, and to nurture your potential. It is my sincere wish that through this process, you can find your way back to the clarity of your true self. May your heart be calmed, and may your spirit be restored to its original, pristine state of clarity. By embracing this path, you are taking the necessary steps to leave suffering behind and find true, lasting happiness. Namo Amituofo.

This discourse was recorded by the Buddha’s disciple, Shi Fa Xi.
