The Sovereign Power of the Heart
People often understand that they are the masters of their own bodies, yet they remain unclear about what exactly constitutes this master. In truth, it is your heart that serves as the master. Your heart possesses the profound ability to govern both your physical body and your spirit. When your heart is firmly in charge, it directs your entire being with clarity and purpose.
The Vulnerability of a Wandering Mind
When your heart loses its ability to take charge, it fails to provide clear guidance to your body and spirit regarding how to navigate the various situations you encounter in life. In such moments of weakness, your body and spirit become vulnerable to external influences. You may find yourself subjected to the intrusion, interference, and control of:
- : Those who come to seek balance for past grievances.Attached spirits
- : Beings that seek to reside within or influence your energy.Demon crowds: Negative forces that thrive on confusion and disharmony.
When these forces take control, your body and spirit are no longer under your own command. The manifestation of takes precedence, and you find yourself living in a state where these external entities dictate your actions and reactions.
Cultivating the Heart through
Conversely, when your heart is capable of taking charge, it leads your body and spirit with unwavering resolve. It provides clear instructions on how to face the challenges of life. By maintaining this sovereignty, you become resilient. You are no longer easily disturbed or invaded by the manifestation of karma, karmic creditors, attached spirits, or negative forces. You remain the master of your own house, and you are not easily controlled by external circumstances.
This is why the heart is of such paramount importance. If you wish to change your life, you must begin by putting in the work at the level of the heart. By doing so, you will naturally bring about a transformation in your body and your spirit. Buddhist education, along with the practice of listening to sutras and hearing the Dharma, serves as an essential method for nourishing and regulating the heart. These practices provide your heart, body, and spirit with a correct direction. They help you understand how to navigate the complexities of your life, allowing you to find stability and peace. Through this process, you will achieve purification, reveal your innate goodness, and, through layer upon layer of purity and kindness, eventually rediscover your true self.
as a Sacred Universe
Your body contains the profound mysteries of the universe. If you can understand the deep connection between your heart and your physical form, you will be able to regulate your heart effectively. By ensuring that your body operates in alignment with purity, goodness, the Universal Principle, the Truth, and the Right Way, you help the four elements of earth, water, fire, and wind within you to remain in harmony and flow smoothly. This state of balance makes it difficult for internal or external illnesses—such as the manifestation of karma or the spread of plagues—to take root.
Furthermore, this harmony helps the cells of your body exist in a state of peaceful coexistence with any external beings or pathogens that may have entered your system. Instead of attacking one another, which leads to the cycle of aging, sickness, and death, your body can maintain a state of equilibrium.
The Heart as the Supreme Leader
Ultimately, all of this is governed by the heart. Your thoughts, your actions, and your perspectives dictate the state in which your body and spirit reside. Whether the various cells within your internal organs, or the different spirits residing in different spaces and parts of your body, exist in a state of peace and stability or in a state of fluctuation, turbulence, and conflict, is entirely determined by the command of your heart. Therefore, the heart is the supreme leader that governs the state of your Body-Mind-Spirit. The fundamental solution to all problems in life begins with the regulation of the heart. Namo Amituofo.
