The Illusion of Earthly Power

I am Lin Rongsan. In my past life, I was a well-known figure within the Democratic Progressive Party and the Triple-Town group. My influence spanned the worlds of politics, commerce, and real estate. However, those days are long behind me now. I reside in the of Ultimate Bliss, and the affairs of the human world feel distant and inconsequential. I have discovered that when I focus my mind on virtuous thoughts, my spirit feels light and clear. Conversely, whenever I recall the negative actions of my past, my spirit becomes heavy and burdened. I feel a deep need to express my repentance for the many things I did during my time on Earth. Repentance brings a sense of relief; without it, the weight of the I accumulated would have been unbearable. Had I remained in the hells to suffer the consequences of my actions, the experience would have been truly terrifying. I am profoundly grateful that Practitioner Su, in his great , reached out to rescue me. Without his intervention, I would still be trapped in that abyss, crying out to the heavens and the earth with no one to hear my pleas.

The Unsparing Mirror of the Underworld

In my past life, I was often unyielding, believing that I was always in the right. To increase the impact of my words—whether in media or public discourse—I would often embellish the truth, adding my own commentary regardless of whether it was accurate or fair. I did not think deeply about the consequences; I spoke simply to oppose others or to vent frustration on behalf of the masses. While this earned me the support of many, it was a hollow victory. When I died and descended into the hells, the very first thing I faced was a trial regarding the words I had spoken while alive. I was astonished. These events had occurred decades ago, yet the records in the hells were perfectly clear. They did not just present the words; they showed me the exact moment I spoke them, including the date, the time, and the very expression on my face. After several rounds of interrogation, I realised that it was impossible to argue with the King of Hell. They possess methods that compel one to bow their head and acknowledge their errors. In the human world, one might hire a brilliant lawyer to win a lawsuit, but in the underworld, the King of Hell conducts business with absolute impartiality. Your earthly titles, your connections, and your wealth carry no weight there. In fact, these very things can lead to additional charges, making your situation even more dire. I was sentenced to the Tongue-Pulling Hell, where my tongue was suspended and blood flowed endlessly. The pain was excruciating. Even though my physical body had died, my spirit remained, and I could not escape the agony. I would lose only to be revived and have the torture repeated over and over again. I share this now because I hope to spare others from such a fate. There were even more horrific sights—the digging out of hearts and intestines—but I cannot bear to describe them further, lest I cause you unnecessary fear. I simply wish to convey the truth of my experience.

The Compassion that Rescued a Lost Soul

I have now developed a sense of true compassion. To those who are still living, I urge you: do not speak or write words that are critical, untruthful, or designed to stir up trouble. Do not embellish the facts. If you know something to be true, state it as it is; if you do not know, do not invent stories. Otherwise, you will surely face the consequences in the hells after death. I am speaking the truth, not falsehoods. Please, I implore you to believe me, for this is the pain I have endured myself. I am now in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. It was Practitioner Su who rescued me from the hells, granting me the opportunity to repent and turn towards goodness. I am truly grateful to him. The Western Pure Land is a magnificent place. Regardless of who you were in your past life, everyone here is treated with absolute equality. Everyone is kind, gentle, and harmonious. There is not a single thing here that would cause your heart to feel unsettled or agitated. We do not speak in loud voices; we communicate heart-to-heart. It is a remarkable experience. Here, there is no need for spoken language; one simply looks at another and immediately understands their meaning. I have become like this as well. The scenery is beautiful, and the dwellings are even more magnificent, shimmering with golden light. There is no need to purchase a home; one simply thinks of a dwelling, and it manifests. This is a miraculous, highly advanced world, perhaps because Namo Amituofo truly abides here. There are many monastics here as well, all of whom appear with great dignity. I believe I have attained such a state myself.

A Final Plea to the Living

To be able to arrive in such an environment, in such a wonderful place, must be the result of cultivated over many lifetimes. While you are human, I encourage you to do as many good deeds as possible and cultivate your blessings. When you eventually face the trials of life and death, there will be someone there to rescue you. I say this with a humble heart: my primary hope is that everyone will learn the , chant Namo Amituofo, and seek to be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss so that you may avoid suffering. The Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre in Australia is the place that saved me. I hope that my own family members will come to this centre. The centre is preparing to build a Amituofo Village, which will help people be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. I welcome everyone to come here. Not only will you find peace of mind and heart, but those who are suffering from illness may also find healing. Namo Amituofo!
