What is true, great filial piety? How should one truly act to fulfil this sacred duty? These questions weigh heavily upon the heart of any practitioner seeking to align their life with the Truth.

The Unchanging Truth of Filial Piety

The first of the Three of Pure is to be filial and to nurture one's parents. While it is often said that to become a monk is to leave one's family behind, the respect and filial care we owe our parents remain an unchanging Truth of the universe. Practitioner Su often mentions in his talks that his initial motivation for learning the Dharma was to ensure his parents would be reborn in the of Ultimate Bliss in this lifetime. He has truly achieved this.

I have been listening to the Dharma at the Hsiang Kuang Pure Land Buddhist Centre, within the Dharma-Nature Land, for some time now. Every morning, during the walking meditation, I witness countless sentient beings arriving in droves. With immense , Practitioner Su guides them toward rebirth, each according to their own karma and blessings, allowing them to transition into the Three Realms of Goodness.

The Compassionate Guidance of Practitioner Su

My dear, compassionate Venerable Ding Hong, I am still here in the Dharma-Nature Land, listening to the teachings. Only through your compassion—by coming here to understand the true skills of —can I be reborn in the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss. This is also a matter of great blessings for all beings.

When you possess the correct understanding and the true cultivation, you will be able to return to Jueyuan Temple to lead the Dharma Assembly. The deceased will not only receive the true meaning of the Dharma, but I also hope you will have the skills, like Practitioner Su, to guide them to the Western Pure Land of Ultimate Bliss.

A Mother’s Plea for True Cultivation

My own rebirth is a small matter, but whether the sentient beings at Jueyuan Temple can be reborn depends on whether you are compassionate enough to rethink the current situation. I understand your filial devotion to the Venerable Master, but you must truly contemplate what constitutes great filial piety and how to act correctly. I hope to see you very soon.
